Just added a Sig Romeo4T. Huge difference in feel. Light and handy as hell. Used to have a TA-33 with 300 reticle on it. I will probably wind up selling it as not as quick to acquire a sight picture and I will likely use supersonic with this one most of the time anyway.

I'm looking to build a new 300 upper, and was curious if anyone had any advice they can pass on… Currently I have a 9.5" barrel with an 8.5" URK 4. I alo have an AAC brakeout 2.0. As you can see, there is a decent gap between the can and the rail.

This is a picture of another build that has an 11.5 inch barrel and an 11 inch Troy rail. Practically no gap at all.

Herein lies the question: how far out is it safe to shim the brake? I'm hoping to get an 8.25" STNGR RPTR, and want the can as close to the rail as possible. Is an 8.5" barrel too short to shim?

Thanks! My wife dropped the lower off at the engraver and turns out he also does Cerakote. She saw a rifle made up with the flag hanging on the wall and told him she’d also like that done. Wife got me that rifle for a promotion at work. She’s awesome.

Sick! What's the barrel length on that? Was literally coming to this thread for ideas on fitting a suppressor under a URX 4 lol.

I'm 9 month's in on my wait for my Omega 9k, that may eventually be the plan. Got any picture's? Going to try to fit a Sandman S under it for now I think.

Yeah here you go. It works really well for me.

ETA: I liked it so much I bought 2 more so I don't have to reconfigure it all the time. One stays direct thread, one is tri-lug for the 9mm guns, and the other lives with a piston for handguns.

That's pretty much perfect, look's awesome. I mainly bought the Omega 9K for my Glocks but honestly would rather keep it a dedicated .300 host so I can stop whoring out my Sandman's so much. Sound's like a good idea, Thanks man.

First time shooting it with the can. Holy shit subs ran reliably and didn’t hurt my ears even at the indoor range. I’m sold.

Holy shit that is a fantastic idea!  I’m doing it, I have no precision cans, my N6 pisses me off. I have some Griffins for quick detach.

Ran the 300 today. No way you can hold the hand guard over he can even shooting subs. Ran 39 rounds very fast and it was way too hot to hold.

Going to put a VFG a little further back and run it again. See how hot the rail gets.

Might try that out. Going to run a VFG instead and see how that works out. Might get a more vertical angled pistol grip too.

I have this on my honeybadger. It is the only way to go. And don't use a metal handstop, that'll get hot as f also.

Not yet. The main problem with the hand stop was your skin goes in the mlok slots and touches the can. The VFG should fix this. Will report back after the next range trip.
