Phone + pictures after dark = super grainy awesome. (this wasn't in Maryland, before anyone goes crazy about unlawful hunting )
Blackout Doe by Armed Ferret, on Flickr Was using subsonic 208 ELD Match, so it was a CNS shot. She went about 4 feet....straight down. Definitely not a "proper" hunting bullet, but for CNS it does the job fine. Sure wish Lehighs weren't so damn expensive. Gonna start working up a supersonic load this week. |

This is not the hammermill you're looking for.

Supers from the Rainier Select blackout tube were straight up awful. 3-4 MOA, 125s and 168BHTPs. The 168s were closing up to a little under 2" at 19.5 grains of CFE black, but still not the greatest. I think there's a bit more room there; a couple primers looked like they were just starting to flatten but no ejector swipes or anything. Hornady's book max is 20, so I may do another bout of .2-grain increments approaching it.
Still have some H110 and Lil Gun to also try of course, so all is not lost yet. If I can get my hands on some 110 barnes I'll give those a whirl as well. |

In addition to several does and a couple toothless gray-faced bucks taken with .308 and 7-08, this gal (and an unphotographed button buck) fell to 125 NBT's over 20.5 grains of Lil Gun. (a number of foxes, woodchucks, and even a couple coyotes have been controlled in the last few months as well) Thwacked her good in both lungs (total soup when i dressed her out) and she made it about 20 yards before she flopped. The button buck was remarkably similar in that both lungs were liquified, and he made it a full 30 yards. We'll see how it does on hogs next month; spending 5 weeks in Texas. blackout doe supers by Armed Ferret, on Flickr |

I posted in another thread how I am looking for an Ar10 or similar. I found a DB15, which is a 300. Can anyone tell me why DB are so cheap and overall differences between .308 and 300?

10" is at the long end of a 300BLK barrel. Doesn't sound like he's familiar with the caliber.
What's the straight-pull company? I'm very interested in a similar setup Edit: Found it - Lantac |

Both of these setups have the spring under the handguard. For my next one, I wanted to do something like the RRA PDS but shorter, which is a bit of a challenge without a flatwire spring. I think I can get it to work out with a single RFB action spring, but if you find a flatwire spring, off the shelf, that can run shorter as a single spring I'd be all over it. |
