About 2 weeks ago,  AA said they were almost ready to ship, a little over a week.

Yesterday,  I asked if it would ship sooner, if I switched to a 16" ( thinking 16" might be in stock )  she said 4-5 weeks either 18" or 16"

WTF ?

I canceled my order

Today, was gonna get a 16" ODIN,  but then got a back in stock email from Joe Bob Outfitters, the FAXON 16" Gunners are in stock

Ordered the FAXON.  already got my tracking number
FUCK YES

I'm going to wait on AA.

In 5-6 weeks I'll post some targets and we can compare.

I'm hoping it's worth the wait.

finally got time to test it out after work tonight.

100% reliable

primers all look fine,  managed to find all my brass

In the fading light, my middle aged eyes, and a Burris MTAC 1-4x got me honest 1.6" groups with factory ELD 123gr. ( 100yrds)

The Burris has this reticle, which is not the best for shooting tiny groups.

( not my pic,  stolen from google LOL )

----------------------

pretty sure, with a bigger scope, and better light, I can do better.

so far   . . . so good.

cool   post pics when you get it

i called to cancel when primary arms had the 18" Odin with gas tube, gas block, and bolt/carrier for $269 ( labor day sale)

she assured me they'd ship in about 10days

2 weeks later i call and ask if it will ship faster if i change
my order to a 16"
...she says either way, it's gonna be 5 or 8 weeks or some nonsense

i called back and cancelled

then emailed her saying per our conversation please cancel my order
....she replies saying 5-6 weeks

i reply telling her again that i cancelled

she replied my order is cancelled

sigh

tempted to change my credit card number

when i log in, it still shows my order pending

I have waited several months for custom gunsmiths

but for a off the shelf barrel, i guess i expect too much

at any rate, I'm very happy with my Faxon, looking forward to working up loads and playing Grendel

I got off the fence.

18" AA fluted Grendel and 16" Classic(BCA)

And yes I have 6.8.

458 SOCOM must be next.  I can't stop and you bastards don't help.

Loving this FAXON Gunner.

shooting 1" groups at 100yards with factory 123grELD

bought some 107gr SIERRA's to try, and ordered some dies.

Try some IMR 8208 XBR with those 107 grain SMK. Both my 16” 6.5 Grendel like that combo.  I shot  the same load in a Friend’s 18” Brownell’s barrel and it really liked them to.

28.5gr gave me 0.60"-ish groups, 29gr opened up a bit.

Caught the PA sale on the Odin too, just as it ended, getting too antsy waiting to get a 6.5 so I emailed them and asked when the next sale would be.  They replied that they would honor the sale price all I had to do was place the order and send the sales number to them and they would adjust the price.... Ordered it Monday!  $270 for barrel, BCG, Adj gas block and tube is a helluva deal.
