It is slightly ironic.  I got a good deal on the mount though and my bobro quit holding zero.

I can remember back when people mentioned they were buy spares, and you got a bit upset, and pulled a $125.00 deal.
I just bought and kept me trap shut........for once.

But now it's OK to fess up, I keep 2 MBT's in reserve at all times. Never know when I can talk a friend into trying one.
Funny, I never had to remove not a single one after I installed it.

Is the "I can wait" price of $125 for a limited time only?

Got my MBT today. Some serious swag was included which is great as usual. Pulled the SSA out of my .300 BLK SBR and unscientifically compared the 2 side by side before installing the MBT.

Quick Dry Fire and Installation Observations:

-Very well made and pretty trigger (no surprise)

-The pinned disconnector is a nice touch and one less item to worry about keeping up with

-Trigger install isn't hard but the MBT seemed a little easier with pinned discon and little less resistance pushing pins (I've had times where my thumb is killing me from holding that hammer in place and struggling to get the pin started)

-The take up on stage 1 is superb. This was my biggest takeaway and immediate feature I liked. MBT took less muscle to pull through first stage before a crisp break.

-The wide trigger feels good on finger pad

-Clean break

I went back and forth between the MBT and SSA. Breaks both seemed the same but the minimal and smooth stage 1 "take up" was where the MBT really stood out. I can see where others may opt for the heavier spring but the one that came installed felt great. This trigger was installed on my SBR and I really want to put another in the recce precision rig.

Disclaimer: I try not to be a "fanboy" of any one brand and eliminate bias. We are blessed to have such a wide variety of AR accessory options. I have no agenda with my review as I have given companies like LT, KAC, and Geissele plenty of business over the years. I like to blend parts from my favorite manufacturers and find out what I like best. "Tinkering" with my rifles may be my favorite part of this hobby.

Final Thoughts:

-Need more actual shooting time

-First stage take up is phenomenal with equivalent break to current competing triggers

-I like the wide trigger

-Value at $125 is incredible and I'll probably buy at least one more to try on my precision rig

The mule (picture before MBT install):

And the packaging makes good storage for items not in use.

The MBT has a smoother takeup, similar break, and shorter reset. Trigger to trigger consistency is better.

I have a couple RRA's. Decent feeling triggers for the money, but they vary a bit in consistency. My MBT's all feel better than my RRA's, the best of my RRA's is pretty close. Break on the MBT's are very crisp. I would liken the MBT break as closer to a High Speed Match break than any of the other Geissele's. It is heavier than my Hi speed will ever be though.

I think that might be to to make the 4.5 pound point required for some matches. Such as the new AR Hi-power category.

They're different triggers. The MBT competes more with the SSA and SSA-E. I hope Larue starts making a fully adjustable high speed competitor with a faster lock time. I'll need a couple.

Well I guess it is my turn to add to the ongoing saga of satisfied MBT customers. I ordered my trigger on 2/27 and received it today. The inclusion of pocket Constitutions, Dillo Dust, Dillo bottle opener, and battle mixer are welcomed surprises. The battle mixer really caught me off guard lol. As for the trigger, I would be impressed with it if it were priced between $200-250. However, at the "I can wait" price of $125 it is an absolute bargain. The machining is top notch (yes there are some machine marks if you look really close). The take up is the smoothest I have felt for an out-of-the-box trigger and a bit lighter than an SSA. The break is pretty similar to an SSA. The reset is great using the installed/lighter trigger spring. I may decide to switch over to the heavier spring for added peace of mind since I decided to install this in my primary rifle. The heavier spring is not needed for a great reset though. Overall I am pleased with the trigger. I can see why so many of the triggers beng sold are to return customers. I will be ordering more, I just have to decide how many more lol.

For those wondering, I am not a Larue nut hugger. In fact, this is my first Larue purchase.

Sig doesn't recommend changing the trigger in the MPX. The MCX is GTG the last I knew.

People on Sig forum have been changing them on their MCX.

How 'bout a MPX?

Actually I waited too long- not only do I need another MBT, but now I need another optic mount too.

Darn you to heck, Mark...

Some interesting factoids:

1. A friend of mine was apparently roommates with Mark's sister in law (?)
2. My LaRue hat got me a discount at lunch yesterday. The waiter said "I like your hat"... He comped my appetizer. LaRue swag = free stuff (win for me).

Replaced a G2S, really like the wide trigger.

No testing yet but I will later.
I like moly grease myself for contact points, I use a heavy moly content grease made by Honda.

Shitty thing is, I will be ordering a few more.

My MBT wouldn't fit in the Salt Works 308 lower I was planning on using it in. The safety selector wouldn't go in, it hit the tail of the trigger that interfaces with the safety by a few thousandths.

I swapped a Giessle SSA-E in to that lower and put the MBT into a different lower. Seems nice, especially at the price point.
