I ordered a PSA 16" 5.56mm, 1:7, CMV CL MP, Mid-length, Premium Barrel - Lighter Profile back on the 8th.  Their site says it can take up to 15 business days to ship, so I'm hoping it will get shipped next week (it's been 12 business days).  I ordered a full assembled upper from them on 11/27, and it was delivered on 12/19 (16 business days for delivery).  Anyone know how long PSA takes to ship just a barrel?

I ordered the same barrel in stock on 12/21/12.  Still nothing.

I ordered the same barrel on 12/24 and haven't received anything.

I got a shippng notification from PSA today.  What's strange is that it references the ATI lower I purchased on 1/19 twice (once by order number, and once by purchase date).  It says 2 packages so I hope it is the barrel and lower, but according to the shipping notification, both are going to my FFL.

If i had a M249 Saw or a belt fed AR I would buy a CHF barrel, but I think just the CL HP/MPI are the best for what I would imagine 95% off the community is using it for. And the accuracy is not better on a CHF barrel as the others.

Nice lookout though, looks like one left in stock haha.

You sure these are "mid length" and not "carbine length" ?

The one with the picture on their website says "carbine length gas system."

http://www.wmdguns.com/shop/cart.cfm?cmd=view.item&tcat=4&scat=2012&productid=144

The one without a picture comming soon says "mid length"

I backordered one from Brownells in Dec. Hopefully this means I'll be receiving one soon.

ps. I think the facebook post is a typo, and 1 is carbine, and 1 is mid length.

I believe the mid length gas system from WMD with the NiB-X coating is a new product, so noone has one yet.

As for the carbine length, I read good reviews. The guys that started WMD split off from Fail Zero.

The coating is done by a plating company for them afaik so I think its done by professional plating service to their specs.

I decided to go with NiB-X over chrome after reading it supposedly lasts up to 50% longer than chrome. My reasoning was, if Feinswein jams a ban down my throat and I cant buy more rifles later, the ones I order now need to last.

A Brownells reviewer said he ran 100's of rounds through his barrel, cold and hot, clean and dirty, and the accuracy remained spot on.

The coating can be top coated w/ Cerakote, etc if you don't want the silvery look.

I ordered their BCG w/ Hammer as well, and it looks nice. Opened the package and gave it a light coat of Wilsons Ultima Oil and it seems nice and slick.

If the rest of my parts ever show up, I might actually be able to test it.

Hope this info helps. Can only speak from research not experience, yet.

I wanted to add, their mid-length gas system model says it helps to reduce felt recoil.

I went with the carbine length model, and a "specter length diamond foregrip" from yankee hill machine, and a low profile adjustable stainless gas block from JP Rifles.

That way the gas block is hidden just inside the foregrip, and its adjustable, so the felt recoil / bcg cycling can be fine tuned. I went with the stainless block even tho they are backordered versus an aluminum because I figured the threads would last longer. Aluminum threads tend to strip / wear when you fiddle with them.

Ar15depot.com has barrels. Says in stock. Ordered a forward assist from them a few weeks ago and got it in a week.

I ordered one from them on the 17th, was delivered at my door on the 28th.  It was supposed to be there on the 25th but it was delayed by fedex on the 25th so it was not delivered until the next business day.  Not too bad for California to Missouri going ground.
I will say that the black finish on them is a little different.  To me it looks like the barrel was blued.  For what I wanted it for it will work fine.  After I ordered I emailed them with no response then I got a tracking notice.

I would not normally pay the $185 I did for that barrel.  But as everyone knows times have changed and it was instock.
