Thats normal. The KMR anodizing is different than the typical anodizing were familiar with.

Finally got an AR again after moving up north. Decided to just go Factory BCM upper with the "free" BCG and Battlecomp and shipped up one of my lowers. Current settup is 6lbs (minus magazine) -In the future, I want to do a BALIOS upper and lower set, skeleton stock (or NEA MP5 Stock if it reduces weight) 14.00With Pinned extended flash hider and see how much lower i can get it :) http://i1345.photobucket.com/albums/p667/thmoxy/Guns/gear/2014-09-11%2018.30.18_zpstnxzo00b.jpg http://i1345.photobucket.com/albums/p667/thmoxy/Guns/gear/20140911_183202_zps7pww02id.jpg http://i1345.photobucket.com/albums/p667/thmoxy/Guns/gear/20140911_195549_zpskbqfq7rn.jpg http://i1345.photobucket.com/albums/p667/thmoxy/Guns/gear/20140911_182733_zpsnwbqr7z1.jpg View Quote The NEA stock is super heavy and requires a proprietary bolt carrier. Lightweight options are minimalist stock from mission first tactical, ace arul-e stock, or smoke composites. |

OH YEAH BROTHER!!! Guys i did it for three reasons, weight, aesthetics, and i wanted a even slimmer profile. I tried wrapping my hand around it and the rail would bite into my hand so i guess that was my main reason. Aesthetically the Balios Lite upper receiver has those small scallops in the picatinny rail sections so i wanted it to match. When i cut the profile on the rail to make it slimmer i wondered if i would ever need that rail again so i decided to add M-LOK just in case i did ever need to use it. As far as weight goes it only cut .6 oz not much at all, but this rifle only weights 4 lbs 10 oz as is on this pic minus the magazine, every bit counts in the end. http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j203/anibal999r/IMG_2981.jpg http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j203/anibal999r/IMG_2982.jpg View Quote Its....beautiful. |

How you liking that stock compared to your old one? Also, digging the black better
Edit: Also would like to see a side by side of your two photos and what and why you changed and what you like about the new set-up, if you have time. |
