Got all the way to submit with a plum model and it went OOS.
Oh well |

There will be more, but like OP…I wonder who did end up with one because none of the guys in the previous thread did.

Close to 40 years' experience in making them and "genuine" provenance (if that matters). If it were me, I'd rather a WBP Jack than a PSA. And before someone says "an M85/Jack isn't a real Krink", neither is PSA's so long as it's chambered in 5.56. |

I wanted one so bad and even had one in my cart for a few seconds. But in all the time spent waiting in anticipation, I had talked myself out of it. I like the idea of 5.56, but out of such a short barrel it would be worthless.
I decided to wait for a different caliber. Not sure if that will be 7.62x39 or the eventual 300blk. I still go back and forth about the 5.56 because for me this thing would be a range toy anyway, but I guess it makes no difference now. They are OOS so I have to wait for whatever I get. Maybe we can see some range reports of the 5.56 out of that short barrel and if it doesn't keyhole, that will be the one for me. I figure in about a month we should see some reviews online... |

View Quote Yes 8.5 barrel in 556 doesn't seem like a smart way to go at $1100. I'd have to sbr it if I wanted the proper look/stock as well for another $200 and hassle. 300 black out might be the way to go for krink look and still being practical. I don't know if 556 AK mags and 300 are compatible though. Don't get me wrong they are still pretty cool |

It is a fun gun for me - Still want in 5.56 but would gladly take one in 300blackout |

I went with an Arsenal 106.

I have a 7.5 AR pistol that I love. I am pretty sure that if someone were to get shot with one from across a room or from the distance of the average home driveway or yard. Its going to be a very very bad day for them. With that said... for self defense/HD purposes, make sure to skip the FMJ and get some self defense rounds of some kind. I keep 3 mags loaded for just the AR pistol. They are loaded with some kind of Hornady SD ammo. I forgot what exactly.
When I get my Krink it will shoot whatever random ammo at the range and then at home be loaded with something good for SD. Then again, neither my AR pistol or the Krink will be what gets used if SHTF. So my point is completely moot |

View Quote Have wondered about that myself, shortest 5.56 barrel I have is 10.3, and no issues with keyholing. I also have an 11.5 and it's noticeably more accurate than the 10.3 and smoother shooting, I wonder what the bottom edge is for accuracy and issues in 5.56? Shortest 7.62x39 barrel I ever owned was an M92, and it worked great even out to 200 yards. (welded barrel extension/FH to make it 16", and stock) |

I tell ya, make one of these that will run hot .45 colt loads and i'm all in, 8.5 is a very nice barrel length for that caliber, maximizes the pressure curve and great accuracy, run 300-325 grain handloads and you have a hogbuster-and-a-half.

I have shot M16s with 10" barrels FA that would keyhole. In fact, that is the first time I had ever seen such a thing.
However, these were old military weapons that had been down in Panama for years and it is possible that the barrels were shot out which will also cause keyholing, as will shooting the wrong ammo to twist rate, so who knows???? At the time, I didn't know about twist rate and different grain bullets and all that stuff, so I didn't know to check. |
|
|
Nope. No keyholing with mine anyway. I just zeroed a new Eotech on it about 3 weeks ago then ran about 200 through it.

Mention an AR is passing, and I look the other way. But don't post AR pics here, makes me want to squish something. |

Take a look at the 9 holes review on YouTube aboutthe krink. I think that would answer your concerns. |

I have a Polish Mini-Beryl in 5.56. Both 55 grain and 62 grain ammo types do not keyhole - In fact they both shoot fairly accurately for such a short barrel.

Well when a thread goes off topic this bad, it's normally locked.
I tried to get thread away from the off topic pic, but instead started a shitstorm. So thread over. |
