I have heard that standard steel Galil mags need quite a bit of fitting to go into a JRA Gallant. Anyone have any firsthand experience with this? Any mods to the receiver to solve the problem?

I have 5 I can click into a new Gallant I just got this week. Havent shot it but they are made for that rifle.
Never heard of any fitting problems.

Not a problem in mine. IIRC, their gen1 gallants were picky and only worked right with tapco mags. They have apparently fixed that.

I have 12 vg surplus mags and all but one fit easily into my JRA ARM. One sticks back near the mag latch area.

I picked up a couple. They were tight on the back side of the mag but after a couple of insertions and removals they are fine.
