It's a UTG short grip...i ran it on my AR for a while but just swapped them around, have an afg on that now and this grip as pictured. It's a nice grip, it detaches quickly and has storage. It was also reasonably priced! |

Mine after trying different configurations. Removed the Midwest Industries rail setup and went with the Ultimak gas tube. Much lighter on the front end, much better co-witness with the Micro dot, and the gun is shooting tighter groups again (seems to have opened up after quad rail install)

True, I ordered the PRS extra long pad for the MOE when I still had the stock on my AR as I wanted full A2 length, with the adapter+stock on the AK it's even longer, but works out well for me, i'm a hair over 6' 2" and have long monkey arms. ETA: 15 1/8" , 14 5/8 if you put the regular buttpad back on, but I wanted cushy for the extra recoil of the .308 , but again, some points to consider:
a) I really like the Magpul rifle stock, most comfortable one i've used, been wanting to try it on an AK for a while and I can't say enough about how awesome the TAKD adapter is, everything locks up nice and tight and clean and the dang thing is cheaper than most other options out there, you can put an M4 tube on it if you want, but i've been looking for one specifically to do an A2 tube and the MOE rifle stock. b) LOP is really not all that far from bullpup length, I personally don't like the bullpup look, aesthetically it's pretty heinous to me, but I understand and appreciate it's principle, i'm a pistol guy from way back, started shooting USPSA way back when and went from there into long range stuff after reading too much Elmer Keith , so a long LOP comes close to mimicking the distance at which I grip a pistol to shoot it, and that's how I shoot best.
c) This rifle is for hunting, not combat, I have other rifles with shorter/adjustable stocks, this one will have a scope, bipod, and be for long range shooting, so no reason I can't stretch out. |

What mags does it take? Molot makes 5 and 10 round polymer mags that come with it, but I usually sell those. I only use Csspecs 20 rounders, best mag made, they have new 20 rounders with a nitride coating that seems very similar to parkerizing, kinda ugly, but they take a paint topcoat well which is why I bought them instead of the blued ones this time, wanted to match the Vepr finish better. |
