Alright!  Just got done with the Bulgarian 74.  Man, that thing had the crappiest finish.  Cheap ass paint came off with Hoppe's #9 Solvent!!!

Anyway, I glass beaded it after assembly and about 100 rnds test fire...

Then duracoated in matte black.  Going to have to tear it down and re-touch the duracoat later.  People aren't kidding when they say it takes weeks to cure (I believe the Lauer website says 24 hours - that is absolutely not true).

still needs refinishing, but...

Finally got a break in the weather enough to get some work done in the garage. Still need to refinish it (hope in the next week or 2), but I'm kind of proud of it...

Copes Polish UF kit
G2 trigger kit (3 compliance)
USA slant break (1 compliance)
USA gas piston (1 compliance)
Armory USA receiver (1 compliance)

That is a sweet rig. I am building a damn near replica of that same item. I'm using a PBS-1 Fake can to extend the barrel instead of SBR the rifle. Nice job man.

snowmonkey, do you still have all the fingers on your left hand after shooting that pistol......

But seriously, a forward grip on a pistol classifies the weapon as an "AOW" or all other weapon(s) and would be considered a NFA item. I would modify that before the ATF comes to see you......

My mom finished her rifle today.  Mine is about 5 days behind or so.  It has Slam Firing problems, and the stock is in the midst of being lacquered.  But its going to look amazing :-)

Anyways here is my moms rifle,

Fiberforce Stock set.

Well here is my newest (and first) creation....

Home made Appatong (Oak) pistol grip, and refinished all the wood.  Bolt carrier was chromed by my friends dad free of charge and the bayo's fit nicely.   Im in love with it.

This is copy/pasted from my first post in another picture thread. I suppose it's more at relevant here. I'd like to thank everyone here with cooler toys than me for making me spend my money.

I'm fully impressed with the hardware shown in these threads. I don't have much in comparison(especially all you guys with beautiful Russian furniture), but here are a few of my builds. They're all G kits on NDS-3's with G2's, US brakes, and RSA pistons. All they need now is some park. I opt for US pistons since I like the flexibilty of different furniture. The one on the far left is my beater WASR. I'm on the search for Russian wood for the folder.

http://img528.imageshack.us/img528/1723/kits007zd4.jpg

And here's a Romy G after serious work with a file (removed as much machine marks as possible) and a blasting cabinet. It was dropped off at our local smith for a polished hot blue. The furniture is Polytech. Next, I'm going to try and find a simple muzzle nut. I've got a matching mag that was also blued, but it's misplaced somewhere.

And it's pristine. The G2 and recoil spring unit were both blued as well, and since it's been back together, the carrier has only been racked once for a function test. The kit looked unfire when I got it, so it may stay that way. It will be a gift for my father.

First build, Romy G. Tapco flat. Originally put a black SAW pistol grip, but it just didn't have the look. Went back and cleaned up the original bakelite one, and it wasn't as bad as I had originally thought! Wood was pretty good, so I stripped, stained and light varnished it with a light scrub with 0000 steel wool after. The wood actually looks better in person, it's shinier. Shine on the receiver is the rust preventative I put on post-blueing. It'll come off in the morning. Couple hundred rounds through the pipe, I was amazed how accurate it is. I suspect all the bum rap you hear is more the full auto accuracy, there is one hell of a lot of steel banging around when this thing cycles!

I bought the chromed Maadi already like that in a pawn shop around 1998 for $225 otd.  I ended up spending $300 on a chromed 40 rounder and chromed 100 drum as a package on gunsnet and another couple hundred on the wood from gripsnstocks.

Here's my Polish build, matching parts kit, NDS receiver serialised to parts, still have to paint. Thanks to the ones who came before who taught me how in all these postings....

Here is  my Bulgarian 74, did it March 23rd.

And I just finished this Khyber Pass AK sidefolder on a Romy G kit today (11/30/2008), after watching it collect dust for months... many thanks for help found on these boards, especially the sidefolder spring, the absolute most pain in the neck part of the whole build...
