The Draco comes with very nice, clear wood.  Many folks have finished their stock furniture with great success.
I, being the impatient perfectionist that I am - opted to have Jadnil, Ltd create a custom set for about $150 shipped.  These pieces are epoxy coated which gives the super clear coat look.  I also wanted a color which would go with a bakelite magazine, which is why there is one in the pic.
Here's my furniture in a pic before Tim at Jadnil shipped it to me:

Here's the finished product installed:

Let's see what you did with your AK Pistol furniture, be it finishing off the stock set, or replacing it with something special.

Very nice.

I was thinking about getting one and staining the wood black.

Before & after with Polish palm swell furniture. P.s. cut the muzzle nut tac and put a ak74 style break right after I got it, as well as a Chinese pistol grip.

if anyone is looking for a cheap, wood pistol grip, copes has some nice ones for 20 bucks.

20 dollar wood pistol grip

pretty decent deal...considering most people try to rape ya for a wood pistol grip.

they aren't usa made, but i dont think 922 compliance matters on pistols, does it?

I'd like to see more folks showing their furniture, be it synthetic or wood based.  There were many examples of excellent creativity in the big Draco thread - our new forum allows easier access to specific subjects without looking at almost 40 pages.  So let's see some more please.

New Draco owners will be looking at your projects here as a guide for their project's furniture upgrade.

Stock pistol grip and stock wood. I used Birchwood Casey Tru-oil kit to stain the wood.

^^ Nice.  It's important that folks know you can take the stock wood and make it look beautiful.  The nice thing is that the stock furniture is very clean, free of knots or other imperfections, and is begging to be finished.

You need not spend megabucks to swap out the stock wood - it can be finished however you like.  All the stock sets I've seen finished have turned out very nice, and take the Draco to a higher level.

Got my things in, well most, today. Had to put them on right away!

First simple mod...para-cord mod.

TAPO furniture and grip with an oold holo sight I had sitting ready!

Close-up of pistol grip.   I have a Houge pistol grip coming, and will probably go to it.  This one feels like it shifts slightly fore and aft....despite me torquing it down as far as I dared.

Close up of the holo sight.  This furniture took a bit of fitting to get it on right.

Still waiting on the Hogue tan pistol grip, a few muzzle devices, and someting I am sure I forgot I ordered!  LOL, the joy of a new toy.  Shooting it tomorrow, so everythign came in that was needed JUST in time.

I picked that one up at a local gun show.

I posted the info on it somewhere on another thread.

It is an elastic band type, which I really did not want.  I found a cargo/bag shoulder strap at Academy Sports that was ceap cheap cheap and I like it better.   Has plastic clips, but with both clips on the para cord it feels like it braces the gunbetter when pushing out against it in a shooting position.

That doesn't look too bad, can you see the front sight past that rail on the top though? We still need to know where you got that rear sling attachment point!

Yes the tapco forend completely blocks a good sight picture of your target.  I bought it for another project and it spent a good 5 minutes on that ak before it went in the junk box.  I would not recommend it to anyone.  My original wood was garbage and I am debating on the UTG rail of the Midwest Industries rail to replace the tapco.

Most seem to use red food dye, just the bigger bottle of McCormick from the grocery store cake & sugar aisle, the single bigger red bottle, not the little set of four colors and let it dry. Add some alcohol if you want some deeper penetration. Then they top it off with just a little brown stain, and poly. Or a red/brown polyurethane. Something like Minwax Red Oak 215.

I don't like the "full red" look. And looking at genuine Russian AK furniture it seems to me it's more of a deep orange/brown, but I do like a little red, so I think I'll just do mine with the Minwax Red Oak directly.

Not certain about this particular pistol (owner will have to elaborate) but there were a limited number of chromed Dracos made available recently by CAI. I believe they sold out very fast.

That was the "Hussien" version of the Draco.  Just kidding.

Classic Arms likes to chrome a little of everything.  I am surprised they haven't done a Yugo M-72 yet.  They did a bunch of Monsins a while back.

nope, that's a hard chrome finish done by Classic.  The gun needed a little work to make it run smooth, i polished the internals put a mirror finish on the bolt carrier.  I also swapped out the forearm, pistol grip, and added a polished ak-74 brake.

the magazine had a dull chrome finish, so i took an emery dremel bit and slightly polished the surface layer to make it shine.

needed a little BLING in my life since all my other guns are EVIL and BLACK.

Have this one in another thread, but might as well chime in with my tacticool version! The sling plate is made by Calguns.net member "Vinz" and I highly recommend it - nice piece of kit!

They can't seem to produce enough to keep them in stock.  Sounds like they are building up a back order, then producing just enough to cover them.  Wish someone else would pick them up, I'd like a plate, but got tired of waiting, and butchered up my own.

Yes - that is a very good idea. Those glossy pics you posted have made me decide to get another Draco and furniture like that...

I've requested a tack.  In the beginning it didn't seem necessary, but as this has progressed its become a place where others have added some really good stuff.

I'd hate to have it slip into the archives.
