7. The AKX 9 has been designed from the ground up with all new dedicated AKX 9 parts , the only thing that is off the shelf is the receivers , they are not built using cobbled together surplus parts and will be made by a well known Top Tier builder . We appreciate the interest and input !!! View Quote I am assuming since you stated that they are using off the shelf AK receivers, that at least the top covers will be standard AKM pattern, but what about the furniture? Just trying to think ahead for optics/accessories. |

Yes it will take normal AK front hand guards thus allowing shooters to easily customize the gun , the dust cover is a standard cover that has been modified for the AKX-9 . The rifles and pistols will have the rail on the left side of the receiver should you want to add a standard AK scope mount.

I'm pretty excited about these, just waiting for a price point.
|

I suppose part of my MPX money will go to one of these (maybe).
|
|
Atlantic, I hope you guys are going to be able to keep up with the demand once this thing becomes available. I have a feeling it will sell like crazy.

You'll never please everyone with a new introduction like this but damned if you won't get close!

CarlosC, the firm that designed and is building the AKX-9 is High Quality and low volume firm , They will not be cranking out mass quantity's of the guns it is just not their style. The owner is very hands on so that is good thing because he is involved with the firms day to day production & quality controls .

Any closer to a date of purchase for folks that want it?
Need a tester? |
|
Sorry if this was said before, but when you mentioned a rifle version - would it have a 16" barrel? Or the same pistol length barrel, but with muzzle device pinned for the 16" length requirement?

I sure hope you guys went with the Arsenal krink styling basically a true krink clone with long barrel etc you will sell a crap ton. If they are full size AK clones in 9mm they will still sell but I don't think near as well. I'd buy at least 2 if they were krinks but probly won't if they are full size guns i just don't see the point..market wants compact sub gun style PCC's View Quote i'd rather have a vityaz clone than a 9mm krink. |

The AKX-9 will NOT be a Krink style and will take standard AK furniture and be cosmetically similar to the Vityaz
All of the rifles will have a shorter barrel with a pinned barrel extension ,they will NOT have a 16 inch barrel on the rifle thus allowing customers a easy SBR . |

Here are the current models
AKX-9P ,,,, Pistol AKX-9R ,,,, Fixed Stock Rifle Black Poly AKX-9C ,,,, Fixed Stock rifle Classic Wood Stock including pistol grip AKX-9SF ,,,, Rifle with Original Style Triangle Side Folder |

Glad to hear theres going to be a fixed stock version. Lots of options.
Now all im wondering is price point. |
|
Well, low output + high demand = high price. It's just plain economics, so brace for sticker shock. On top of that, the builder apparently does high-quality work, and that comes at a price, justifiably. I'm not bagging on Atlantic or its builder, just recognizing facts.

Hate to say it but this is really the first American made AK I'm actually excited about, it looks well put together so far

Will the akx9 hold the bolt back after the last round? This would be a great reason to use colt mags.

Any news? Can't wait to see the final product or at least a full pic of the prototype.

The manufacturer has been in no rush to throw something on the market and we have deliberately taken our time with the Testing and Evaluation phases of the project. We have not promised a release date or taken pre orders or deposits . Final production rifles and pistols are in the final assembly phase now , the first 4 production models are on their way to our warehouse and we expect them next week. We will begin taking photos and videos at that time . A few other rifles have been sent out to Military Arms Channel and AK Operators Union for review .
|
|
Yes we have been working closely with Definitive Arms to develop the AKX-9 Family of Firearms since last July .

MAC released a sneak peek of the front end of the pistol version on his Facebook page. I'm on my iphone so I can't post it. FWIW, I put zero credibility in MAC's reviews since he gave raving accolades to HTA and became a part of their propaganda machine. |
