is that rear sight good?  and I think that 1/7 twist rate was ideal, will 1/9 throw me off that much?

Sounds good. The ARMS 40 is a good sight but some prefer the 40L. I doubt you will notice a difference in the 1/7 vs the 1/9 twist.

That's an EOTech. I have one on one of my AR's.

Top pic is the EOTech and the bottom one has an Aimpoint ML3 Comp.

The 552 I think. It's the one that takes the "AA" batteries and NOT night vision compatable.

thanks... it seems that the 552 IS NV compatible... regardless thats more than i could spend right now.  I can shoot it with just the BUIS and it should still be accurate, right? i mean, as accurate as any Iron sight...

by the way, thanks for your help!

edit to add:  you mean the 512, that is the same as 552 but not NV

Yep, 512 does sound correct. You can shoot it as well as your eyes can see.

that break did not look welded and pinned. if there is a threaded barrell under there u will be in trouble if its not permenantly attached.

RainerArms already said that it was pinned and welded. I think I would take their word for it.

I have the identical upper, with that muzzle brake. It's perm.

It's as loud as a .308

Anybody have any suggestions for something quieter?

I did replace my #40 with a #40L
