My buddy's uncle used to have an AR from a while ago, and he offered me a few pre-94 30 rounders he had laying around. I checked them out and they are green follower Okay and Center Ind mags, but the bodies do not have date stamps. He said thats how they came back when he got them. Should I tell him 'no thanks', or are non-date-stamped preban mags ok in NY?

If they are USGI and unmarked they should be OK. Some preban mags are marked with a production date but most are not. I would only be concerned if they were manufactured by a company that did not exist prior to 09-14-1994.

As always you are on your own in NY because there is no one in the NY AG's office or NYSP legal division who will render an official opinion to the public on any aspect of the NYS AWB.
