A couple months ago we had a discussion about toll increases. There was also talk about a $1.00 service charge a month for EZ Pass users starting July. Well, I checked my online statement and was charged a dollar for the service fee. I'm not a heavy EZ Pass user. Only use it to cross the Throgs Neck, Yonkers barrier, Tappan Zee and exits off the Thruway usually every couple of months or so. Sometimes I go out of state. Someone posted that not all EZ Pass holder will get the fee. Anyone not expecting to pay this fee get charged as well?

I work for the Thruway and live Upstate in Syracuse. My ezpass account is private (that is to say; not paid for by my job) and i dont get charged the $1 fee. I believe you may be on a bridges & tunnel package which is different from the regular commuter package. Give EZ-pass a call, most of the people there are very friendly and will help you out. Im off till Monday morning, but ill see what i can find out.
