Compare?  Pshaw.  There's no comparison.  Get the Springfield?  Made right here in the good ol'... er... Brazil.

Seriously, though...  I have both full-size and Champion Springfield GIs.  Worth every penny of the $420 or so each costs.

Avoid Bachman's.  Terrible customer service.  There are plenty of good shops in the DFW area that have or will order anything you want and treat you right at the same time.

I've never had problems either.  Shawn even called my local CLEO(new chief) while I was waiting and asked if he would sign off on a Form 4.

The Springfield GI sells for about $410 or so at the gun shows, about $20-$40 more in the store.  And there is a show this weekend at Big Town.

Ok guys - there is already a thread on Bachmans.... how about we keep THIS thread on the topic at hand.

Getsum - the BEST place to compare these fine weapons, will be at the Mesquite Gunshow this weekend at Bigtown.

GunMaster in Plano has a variety of each in stock. Give them a call to verify that they got what you want.  They'll treat you right.

They're not an industry partner so I cannot hotlink but here are links to their location && web site:

Bought my Rock Island from AJC Sports Shop at the Big Town funshow.  Another dealer (not bachman) also had one, they were basically the same price, around $300 or so.

Springfield GI came from Bullet Trap, all anyone else had at the time was the stainless ones for some reason and they had no idea when the matte ones would be in.

Neither Bachman($399-$409), Schramm's($399-$409) nor A&J has any parked SA GI's.  Actually, I didn't see any at the show all the dealer's did mention that they sell quickly.  All the other dealer's wanted $460-$500+....if they have them onhand to sell.

The basic model Rock Island was $289 other model went as high as $360.  I looked at one closely and will readily recommend the SA instead...I just wasn't impressed.
