Hi everyone,

Yes, I am from Illinois….for now.  Southern Illinois to be exact, but please don’t hold that against me.

As far as I know there are only two places here in the US that actually manufacture smokeless gunpowder here in the US.

I found the wiki article on St. Marks which is Florida:

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._Marks_Powder

St. Marks is a subsidiary of General Dynamics.

Which led me to this 2010 article on ammoland.com :

https://www.ammoland.com/2010/10/loss-of-smokeless-powder-the-greatest-threat-to-keep-bear-arms/#axzz4yceo8v8a

Which has this part :

Attachment Attached File

Did that ever get passed?

Did any outfit start making primers or powder in Montana?

Thanks in advance!

Yes, it did become law. I am unsure how many, if any, businesses started up to manufacture the components. Both Governor Gianforte and AG Knudsen were at SHOT this year to meet with manufacturers and hopefully bring them out our way.
