Starting a new thread so I don't clutter up the one started by dogsandhogs

SB2107 ***Passed Committee with additional exemptions added for courts and state agencies***
Firearms; prohibit local governments and state agencies from restricting possession. Watch this one. It's a trojan horse because it removes schools and colleges from pre-emption and enhanced carry.

HB634 Passed Committee and looks like they are trying to exempt some places just like the Senate bill
Firearms restriction; limit those by cities, counties and state agencies. This one appears to reinforce pre-emption, particularly around state-owned property that is rented to private entities.

HB886 Passed Committee
Law enforcement officers; exempt from concealed firearms permit fees and renewal fees.

SB2253 Passed Committee
Concealed carry weapons permit; combine with driver's license or identification card

SB2565 Passed Committee
Concealed carry; allow licensee to update permanent address information online

HB569Died in Committee
Firearms; revise limits placed on counties and municipalities to regulate. This would overturn pre-emption

HB604 Died in Committee
Firearms; clarify licensing procedure. A quick glance Looks like this one just clarifies a few things without taking anything away.

HB608 Died in Committee
Stun gun; remove the term from the prohibited firearms category.

HB680 Died in Committee
Concealed firearms; clarify prohibition for mentally incompetent.

HB697 Died in Committee
Firearms licensed; require proof of mental health evaluation.

HB735 Died in Committee
Firearms; prohibit discharge near petroleum. This comes up every year. Which one of yall keeps shooting at gas tanks?

HB864 Died in Committee
Firearms; authorize concealed carry without a permit during emergency evacuations.

HB926 Died in Committee
Firearms and weapons; authorize nonviolent felons to possess and use in defense of residence or.

HB1041 Died in Committee
Firearms Protection Act; create. Basically says that MS stays gun-friendly if the Feds decide otherwise.

HB1131 Died in Committee
Firearms possession; authorize for nonviolent felons in homes and cars.

HB2558 Died in Committee
Firearms; outlaw open carry of weapons at parades and demonstrations.

SB2564 Died in Committee
Firearms; interpose state law in place of any federal law confiscating firearms. This one prevents confiscation by Feds should they enact any sort of confiscation law.

SB2567 Died in Committee
Second Amendment Preservation Act"; state firearm law preempts any local ordinance or regulation. More pre-emption protections.

SB2568 Died in Committee
Firearms; prohibit state cooperation with federal effort to ban

SB2247 Died in Committee
Concealed weapon permit; authorize Secretary of State to designate certain employees for. For me but not for thee lol.

HB40 Died in Committee
Purchase of automatic weapon; place certain restrictions on.

SB2500Died in Committee
Hunting on streets and railroads; clarify prohibition on.

Does SB2107 exempt education from the contracts provisions or all of the preemption statute?

I'm not sure. It says they have to follow all state law, but it does mention contracts and rentals...which could apply to stadiums and arenas.

I'd really like to see that beefed up because SEC schools are ignoring state law and daring someone to sue them.

So it looks like SB2107, as it passed the Senate, removed all of the exemptions. HB634 still has a few exemptions on it, so let’s hope that the senate version wins in conference.

Sounds like they are all possibly going to be dead due to the deadlock over the tax swap.
