Evening All
I'm looking at acquiring a decent reloading rig, nothing fancy just good quality so it lasts and gives consistent/accurate service. Could anyone give me a few quick recommendations? Initially starting with .223 but probably needing .308 soon after. I currently have nothing so would need the whole kit & caboodle. Any pointers much appreciated  |

I got the RCBS starter kit when I started out I don't know what it cost as it was a leaving presentation

They got the dies and shell holders separately along with a powder measure.
A powder measure is a good idea, i wouldn't want to weigh each and every charge |

you ever used one of those all-in-one jobs?
they look quite likely to fail  |

They are superbe for loading high volumes of .223 for PR/CSR type shooting and seemto throw a very consistent charge. I got most of my heavy kit from Relaiding Silutions in Oxfordshire, or local RFD's such as Brian Fox whop has a shop at Diggle Range. Other more specialised kit, some of the cleaning equipment and other parts I got from the USA from Sinclair international. Dillon kit I get direct from Dillon. It depends on what shooting you will be doing and how much. That will dictate what tyope of kit you will eventually go for. However a starter I would be inclined to buy decent quality equipment (buy once, cry once) Essentials will include: Press (RCBS Rockchucker type, Lee (Classic Cast is the only decent one they do), Redding (as examples) Scales RCBS 10-10's are among the best Powder trickler Powder thrower (RCBS, Redding etc) Dies (for .223 ARs I would suggest a small base full length sizing and decapping dye, and a quality bullet seater die such as Redding, Forster, RCBS) Case Trimmer (Wilson is one of the best but there are cheaper options, and more expensive electronic options like the Giraud case trimmer) Priming Tool Lee do a semi-decent one as do RCBS plus Deburring tools, primer pocket cleaners, decent calipers, Tumbler media atc. Everyone has their own ideas and methods and preferences so there will a be a lot of advice and ideas. Early days yet but good to see you looking ahead to reload.
