Hello to everyone in AK,
 I just found out that my wife and I will be moving to AK next summer. We will be living in Anchorage(My wife is going to be stationed at Elmendorf). Can you guys give me the low down on life in Alaska? Both good and bad points will be appreciated.

Here is a thread on the downside that we had a while back Downside Thread

The upsides are that it is beautiful here, lower population, loose gun laws and plenty of hunting and fishing.

Anchorage is a nice place to live.  SHAMELESS PLUG TO FOLLOW:  If base housing is not your cup of tea, let me know & I'll hook you up with a nice place.  I'm a Realtor here and have sold homes to a few members on this board
