Some Iowa Officials Unhappy About Losing Local “Gun-Free Zones”.  Too bad they have to follow the law too.

We had that right since 1990(?) by the original Preemption with the exception of courtrooms w/o the judges specific permission. It was unlawful resolutions that made people think we didn't. Certain counties put up metal detectors to enforce these resolutions.

Now access is restricted to courtrooms and court offices by law. They can no longer restrict access to public administrative offices w/o putting up metal detectors and armed security. Restricting access w/o those requirements is subject to lawsuit by the person(s) denied access.
