Hello all and if you're looking at this topic then you're hopefully going to be attending our Shoot on the 8th and are interested in firing machineguns while you're there.  All machineguns are legally owned by our Corporation thru the ATF as we are a Class 3 FFL/SOT Dealer here in the central Iowa area and will be providing a selection of various machineguns for those in attendance to fire on the 8th.  We normally rent out machineguns at various shoots as a money raiser for our Corporation and to pay for ammo we would provide the shooter/renter, wear and tear on the weapons, cover travel expenses and to afford future purchases so that we may be able to provide demonstrations to law enforcement agencies in weapons that they request to fire for familiarization and possible purchase by their department.  But at the Fall Shoot (like the Spring Shoot) we will not be charging a magazine rental fee for you to enjoy our machineguns but will be instead asking for donations...

As stated above we will be accepting donations instead of a machinegun magazine rental fee since we are also from the area and understand the restrictive ban on machineguns for private ownership in this State prevents most everyone from shooting firearms that they've only read about.  At a machinegun shoot we charge anywhere from $10 to $80 for a magazine/belt rental so please keep that in mind when it comes time to donate before you leave...please base your donation on the amount of time you spent on the machineguns as I don't expect everyone to contribute the same amount as their trigger time will vary.  People were very generous at the Spring Shoot and if this Fall Shoot continues in the same manner I would like for us to be able to attend future shoots as well because everyone seemed to have a great time shooting our weapons.

AMMO:  
If you would like to shoot any of the machineguns here are the calibers that we will have in attendance for you to bring.  Since this is not a rental you will be loading the magazines we provide for the machineguns before you shoot...this saves our thumbs!  To help prevent people from loading 50 AR mags ahead of time and hogging a M-16 continuously (also overheating barrel) we will provide the mags so each machinegun has a little cool down time between firings.  Unlike the Spring Shoot we will be allowing SOME Wolf ammo to be fired in our machineguns but it must be the newer type Wolf ammo that does NOT have the lacquer coating as it gums up barrels and about everything else.  I'll check on a final list of weapons that will allow Wolf to be fired in them and the list could expand, if Wolf ammo will be allowed I'll place a .  
*** Please NO RELOAD AMMO as we will only allow factory box ammo to be shot in our firearms with exception to factory ammo that was bought in bulk and not sold in a box (8mm as example). ***
Calibers in attendance:  .22lr, 9mm, .45 ACP, .223, 7.62X39, .308 and 8mm.

MACHINEGUNS:
1)  STen...(9mm) this is what the British used during WWII and is characterized by the magazine coming out of the left side of the weapon horizontally and was held like a fore grip for stabilization/control.  **This weapon can use NON lacquer coated Wolf ammo.**

2)  Thompson...(.45 ACP) everyone knows what a Thompson looks like and ours is a M1A1 Thompson that was produced during WWII as a less expensive option to the earlier Thompsons as it does not have a separate firing pin, much simpler rear sight and no allowance to use drum magazines.  **This weapon can use NON lacquer coated Wolf ammo.**

3)  MP-5...(9mm) this weapon is what every SWAT team seems to have on every movie that you see and is very popular with actual law enforcement agencies as well.

4)  UZI...(9mm) this is a very rugged firearm that everyone enjoys shooting but the grip mounted safety can take a little getting used to those with smaller hands.  **This weapon can use NON lacquer coated Wolf ammo.**

5)  AK-47...(7.62X39) this weapon is known the world over from watching tv and the news but very few people have actually fired one.  **This weapon can use NON lacquer coated Wolf ammo.**

6)  G-36K...(.223) this weapon is also made by H&K (MP-5) and is a newer design that is very popular over in Europe and has started to catch on with law enforcement agencies here in the U.S.  **This weapon can use NON lacquer coated Wolf ammo.**

7)  M-16A1...(.223) this M-16 will have the original style of barrel and handguards that everyone will recognize from the Vietnam era and will be full auto and not 3-round burst like current M-16's used by the military.  **This weapon can use NON lacquer coated Wolf ammo.**

8)  M-16...(9mm) this M-16 from Colt is chambered in 9mm and was in response to the MP-5 becoming so popular with law enforcement agencies.  Lots of fun to shoot with the short barrel!  **This weapon can use NON lacquer coated Wolf ammo.**

9)  M-16...(.22lr) we will have a .22lr conversion available for people who are possibly shy of recoil or younger who would like the experience of firing a machinegun.  The conversion takes a few minutes to install so it will only be installed occasionally in the M-16A1 as most will want to shoot it in .223.  **This .22lr conversion requires a roundnose copper-plated bullet for reliable operation and Ciener "recommends" Remington Golden Dot and Winchester Super-X for this conversion, but if you cannot find these two brands bring out what you have...most will still fire but there might be more stoppages while shooting them.**

10) FAL...(.308) this is an original FN mfg firearm that we have configured in STG-58 style with the bipod attached.  Firing a shoulder mounted machinegun in .308 is not for everyone which is why we have the bipod attached as it's much easier to fire (muzzle rise) and to manage as the weight is not having to be supported by your arms.  **This weapon can use NON lacquer coated Wolf ammo.**

11) 1917 Browning?...(8mm) this is a water-cooled belt fed machinegun that dates back to WWI and may or may not be in attendance on the 8th as it's value is rated by what kind of new luxury car you could buy instead.  If this does attend extra care would be involved in its handling by us as well as the shooter.  **This machinegun will have 50 round belts loaded up prior to the Shoot and we will do a "1 for 1" swap on ammo as it won't be possible to reload the belts that day while we're there, just give us 50 rounds of 8mm ammo and we'll let you shoot a 50 round belt.**

12) 1919 Browning...(8mm) this is the air-cooled belt fed machinegun that was used during WWII, Korean War, Vietnam and later.  **This machinegun will have 50 round belts/links loaded up prior to the Shoot and we will do a "1 for 1" swap on ammo as it won't be possible to reload the belts/links that day while we're there, just give us 50 rounds of 8mm ammo and we'll let you shoot a 50 round belt/links.**

13) MG-42...(8mm) this machinegun was used by the Germans during WWII with much success (at our loss) and its design is still being used all over the world in various configurations and designs.  This air-cooled belt fed machinegun featured quick change barrels which was needed as it fired 8mm ammo at a rate of 1,200 rounds per minute...roughly double the rate of a M-16 or Browning 1919.  **This machinegun will have 50 round belts loaded up prior to the Shoot and we will do a "1 for 1" swap on ammo as it MIGHT not be possible to reload the belts that day while we're there, just give us 50 rounds of 8mm ammo and we'll let you shoot a 50 round belt.**

If you have any questions about the machineguns I listed above please feel free to ask as there might be someone else who has the same question.  Lastly I would like to emphasize that these machineguns are NOT bulletproof and can/will break parts so we will be relying on the generosity of your donation (Spring Shoot) to make this worthwhile for us to bring them to subsequent Shoots.  ***Also the beltfed machineguns use CORROSIVE ammo so there is a lot of time and effort that goes into tearing them down and cleaning the barrels and internals so there is not a lump of rust sitting there next time are to be fired.***  We are bringing more than we had at the Spring Shoot in case anyone got jaded (yeah right!) last time and don't feel they want to shoot the same machinegun again.

Still time to order 8mm ammo thru the mail and get to you, also some of the Des Moines area gun shops have 8mm.  Sorry I couldn't get the list of machineguns up earlier but have been real busy this past week.

UPDATE #2:

Hello all and I just got back from sending some lead down range to function check our machineguns that we'll have out at the Shoot.  The Sheriff was called ahead of time to notify them of our intentions today and told Chuck that they know all about the loud noise that comes from his property...but we didn't call the State Patrol and ended up having a Trooper show up on the dirt road.  We never seen or heard him drive up as we were shooting and had double hearing in place but were surprised when we turned around and seen him sitting there.  We approached each other and asked him if he wanted to see our paperwork on all the machineguns (probably 15 or so) and he said that it wasn't necessary as he was sure we were legit and wanted to go closer and see what all we had.  He watched us shoot a few different machineguns and then said he had to get back to his house as he was getting off work in 15 minutes, we invited him to come back and actually shoot some of them but he thankfully declined us and he was on his way.  He was at a traffic stop about 3 miles downwind from where we were shooting and a motorist came tearing up to tell him that someone was shooting machineguns...he told us that he searched for awhile on the dirt backroads before he finally found where we were.  There was some problems/questions on the MG-42 but they're worked out and it running great now.  I loaded up about 500+ pounds of 8mm ammo in links/belts for the 1919 and the MG-42...we only have about 100 separate loaded belts for the 1919 and the MG-42 so once they're gone that'll be it probably since we won't have our belt loader present.  If we need to we could POSSIBLY load some of the MG-42 belts by hand but that's last case scenario.  I updated the machinegun list above to add more firearms to the list that can have Wolf ammo fired in them.  We will have three of our Corporation members present at the Shoot to provide hands on training and familiarization to the shooters of our machineguns.  We were shooting today with some others and now I've added to my dreamlist of machineguns that we need to get for our Corporation!  Hello credit card and goodbye "zero balance"!

Whiteing I didn't know it but you are the person with the WWII Jeep that Chuck mounted his 1919a4 in and that you fired off the mount.  Chuck will be there the 8th and said to tell you HI!

I'll have the answer for you tomorrow on the Turkish 8mm and will post it here.  If that's all you have then we may be able to see what we can do for you.  Romanian and Yugo is very good 8mm ammo!

Here's the deal on the the Turk ammo...Turk ammo will be fine as the Browning will shoot it without fail and most year headstamps will work in the MG-42.  Turk ammo with the headstamp of 1950 with the bullet having a copper color can only be shot in the Browning as the MG-42 does not like it at all.  This headstamp and bullet type/color will work just fine out of 8mm bolt guns however...which I will need to get sometime as well.
