Aparently Wayne county requirs an additional 2 notarized letters of referance in order to issue a CCW, what exactly constitutes a letter of reference?....

Are any other countys like this or is wayne just extra Socialist do to Detroit, and is this extra little requirment even legal?....

My CPL/CCW instructor warned us that Wayne is a b-tch.
I'm not certain that you have to comply with the additional two forms. But, I didn't really pay too much attention, he said Oakland was a breeze.

Yep, Wayne county in their infinate wisdom does require 2 notarized letters of referance. Supposidly it makes the process go a little faster. A simple letter goes something like this:

I, ______________, hereby testify that I have known______________ (the applicant) for appox. ____ years, and can attest to _____ morral character. I have no knowledge of any criminal activity, mental illness, or substance abuse by the applicant. I recommend the applicant for a license to carry a concealed weapon in the state of Michigan with out hestitation or reservation.
