I got mine in under 30 days after actually completing the application process at the THP office. In what part of the state are you?

I got mine in a little less than a week after fingerprinting, which I had to do at a different location than the application. They took digital fingerprints, and they already had my application for a few days. Both of which I assume had something to do with the fast turn around time.

Shit, mine took about 88 days & the maximum is 90 days. Bunch of lazy bastards.
If you want to piss off a bureaucrat, ask them why you can buy a gun in less than 15 minutes but have to wait days/weeks/months for a CCL? It STILL pisses me off. |

In '98 I think it took almost two months, June-Aug.
It was much quicker when I renewed. Funny how natural it seems now to carry my SIG. It feels weird anytime I have to leave the house without it. Edited to correct spelling. |

I got my permit about 2 months after applying and doing the fingerprinting. I have one of the older ones and we used the ink for the fingerprints (would've like the digital kind). I went to the large DOT/DOS station off of I40 at Strawberry Plains Pike. everywhere else wanted me to make some type of appointment or arrive during a small window of opportunity they allowed for this one day a week.
I have the hardest time dealing with state agencies. Or any government agencies for that matter. |

Jackson, TN: 90 days. I called at 88 days and asked in the "sweetest" voice I could about an update on my application. The lady on the other end looked for it, found it, apologized and it showed up 2 days later. The guy I took the class with applied with called the next day. I guess he spoke to someone else because his took another 3 weeks. The lady that he spoke to was offended that he would think that 90 days meant 90 days. Go figure.
The renew took about 45 days out of Nashville. The only saving grace was that they were willing to put the stamp it so that I could carry while I was awaiting, but I did have to ask. Typical with Bureaucrats, if you don't know your rights under the law, don't expect them to volunteer them. |

30 days to knoxville, however a friend of mine had to call twice to question them because hers took 4 months. She was not happy...at all!!!

took about a month or so...Nashville area and my wife and I have had ours a little over 7 years....yes...not having my Kimber on my side feels funny....other than at work, its a part of me...

Well it appears I have been denied. Apparently I was convicted of aggrevated assault in chattanooga in 1998. Even though I was 15 years old in 98 and have never been to Chattanooga in my life I committed a crime there. Tennessee is starting to piss me off a little bit.

Yea I have to appeal in writing which translates into more delays. As far as getting this fixed, I have no idea how to go about it.

It took me a year, of course that was when Police chief Joe Casey had to sign it. nowadays just get my renewal and go get.Ain't it sweet

2 weeks after digital printing in Knoxville. My printing was scheduled for 22 days after I paid the fee to DOS.
