What: 22lr rifle and pistol competition
When: Sunday, March 21, 2021 10AM to whenever Where: Angry Emu Range near Madison, GA (check the sticky for more details) Hope everyone is ready for another round of 22LR 2 gun. Last month went great so I'd like to keep the basic format that we used then but move back to Sundays like we have done on past 2 gun matches. Safety briefing will be @ 10AM followed by some time for anyone to check zero if needed. As far as course design, I am open to any suggestions. Lonestar did a great job last time so we will probably use the same or similar courses again. Bring snacks, drinks, chairs, canopies, etc. as needed. Feel free to ask any questions or make suggestions. Course: Shoot and move - multiple targets 5-150yds for both rifle and pistol. Simple scoring of total time for each course with missed target penalties. Fairly short courses w/ low round counts for the most part. Equipment: Eye and Ear protection. Any legal 22lr rifle and pistol. No holsters, slings, or mag pouches necessary. Extra mags are a plus. Depending on capacity, 2 for each pistol & rifle should be fine. Who: Any safe shooter, family and kid friendly. Prizes: Bragging rights and a good time Cost: Free, donations to the range are appreciated. Cool, I have Sundays off, so I will definitely try to masker this one.

Just happened to notice that you didn't mention night vision in the original post. FYI: as far as I'm concerned, if anyone wants to stay late and run some night vision, I'm good with it. For that matter, if anyone wants to camp the night before, NV would be fine too. AND that might make for a nice campfire on Saturday night as well! (just sayin'... )
I never knew any sort of event that wasn't improved by a good campfire!!! |
I'll probably camp the night before if anyone wants to join me.

I really need to try and make one of these but I'm running a match most of the day on Saturday, probably won't feel like driving a couple of hours on Sunday.
not gonna make this one. have my kids an extra weekend so I can make CW West and SE next month.
Hate to be a last minute flake......but I pulled my back yesterday logging, and didn't feel any better after waking up.
Have fun. |
Thanks to everyone that was able to make it out today. Below are the times for the day.

Pretty incredible that there wasn't a single malfunction with anyone's 22

Fun event!
Changed things up for this time. Sig P226 ran great. AR with tac-sol upper ran good. $20 gun show China sight, not so good. Lol. Ordered a new red dot already. |
So many malfunctions. It takes a lot to make me throw a magazine in anger but today I got there.
I don't think I had a single run with a rifle where I didn't have multiple malfunctions today. I ran 3 or 4 mags without any issues just a few days ago. It was at least good practice and I know I need more of it.
Next one.I'm gonna try to make it earlier so I can shoot the whole match instead of the last 2 stages, lol

Quoted: That mag though. Part of me wants to point and laugh, the rest of me wants to know where you bought it. Lol View Quote Haha thanks. Earlier this week I bought the only one I could find locally (or anywhere apparently) at Georgia Gun Store in Gainesville. https://gun.deals/search/apachesolr_search/806703120201 |

Hello All!
I am curious if there is interest with enough team members to schedule another event within the next few weeks. Please pardon my lack of assertiveness to run such an event as I do not have enough knowledge to coordinate something like this, so no I am hoping our more experienced members may have the time and availability to bring us together. Who all may be interested? |
