The Air Force says an A-10C plane has crashed in south Georgia, and the pilot bailed out.

The plane crashed in a wooded area, and the sheriff's office says there did not appear to be any injuries on the ground.

The Air Force said the plane had no ordnance on board. The pilot's name was withheld pending notification of his family.

Glad the pilot is OK, but DAMN, I hate to lose one of those planes.  I doubt they will be making any more.  As a former Armor/Cav. guy, I loved those planes.  That GAU-8 buuurp sounded like victory.
