400 J&L........... 489 plus tax, offer em 525 out the door and I bet they take it.

Call around. AO, Wild West, 400, just to make sure they even have one in stock with the mags and box.

AO would be more likely to have a used one, which I would get because even a heavily used G19 is pretty much $5 in parts shy of being unused.

A used one might also come with the lighter connector and night sights with years left on them, which will run you a couple hundred new installed.

Couple hundred?  Wow!
$58 installed at glock factory for my night sites!
$20 for the 3.5lb trigger pull.
And everytime I have taken one to glock they come out with some parts that the replaced for free. Not to mention its the cleanest it will ever be!

I wasn't aware Glock would install the 3.5 disconnect on a pistol for you except for the G34 and G35 race guns. I thought they were pretty much purists on the parts.

I paid about $70 dealer price from Midway for Trijicon steel-framed night sights. Are the Glock OEM meps plastic or steel?

In any case it will cost you $200 to get those services done on-site while you wait at a gun shop.

The 3.5 I did not get from glock although it was a factory glock part and I installed that part myself.

Sorry should have made that more clear.

The sites I did at the factory. They installed it while I waited in the waiting room. They even handed me some of the glock magazines to read while I waited.

You can also mail them the slide but takes a few weeks.

guys thanks for all the options! this has given me much to consider.

400 J and L is the cheapest.  But it isn't worth burning $10 in gas round trip to save $10 on a gun.  Every gun store I have seen in the ATL area is usually within $20 of each other on the Glocks.  So if someone has one in stock, I would get one as long as it isn't more than $510.

Now if your friend is a member of GSSF, he can get a Glock 19 for $350 down South of the airport at a stocking LE dealer.    That is worth the drive for sure to save that kind of money.  But if not, stick with the places named above.  I buy all my Glocks from 400 J&L and they have great prices and service everytime I go.

They are up to $400 at Ed's pawn shop in stockbridge with a GSSF membership of $35 and mags are $20 ea.

I recently bought a g-17 there and 20 mags.  Good guys to deal with.

With each yearly renewal, though, you get another glock at LEO pricing.

Do you have to join GSSF through the normal channels and request and wait for the voucher?  Or can you join on the spot at Ed's and get the GSSF special price?  I want a G19 but I am waiting on the new frame to come out.  Since I have about 20 G19 magazines I probably should get the actual pistol.  :-)

They buy M&P's with safetys and 1911's.
Something with a proper grip angle.

I must admit glock is acceptable as soon as you replace:
The barrel with lone wolf
The slide and frame with ccf
The spings
The trigger, disconnector, and transfer bar
The sights
And the guide rod

Then it's "ok" but still not what I'd prefer...

I replaced the barrel on my G19 with a threaded Lone Wolf barrel.    I also own an M&P .40C.  I bought the G19 so I could shoot cheaper 9mm.  The only pistol I have that I didn't enjoy shooting was a Browning Hi Power, which had a super heavy trigger pull.  Sent it to a gunsmith to get a trigger job.

My first handgun was an 1989 miodel G17 I bought new and have had great luck with.  I like my glock and I'm keeping it.  If I was going out today to buy a pistol to replace I MIGHT go with the XD9 instead.  My BIL has an HS2000 that I like and the Springfield versions are even better.

I dont like the XD's they just look ODD and seem to have a higher bore line than a Glock.  If you look at a XD next to a Glock look at the height from the top of the trigger opening to the top of the slide.  It looks so much greater than a Glock for some reason.

Ah, the myth lives.  What was that angular difference again?

I've also never had any of these malfunctions with my Glocks.  Interesting that the reference thread is titled 1911 malfunctions.  Having owned Colts, Kimbers, Springfields, and even an Ed Brown, I love a good 1911 as much as the next guy, but I'm still a realist.

The M&P is a fine handgun, albeit a fairly recent comer.  My biggest beef with it is that the takedown lever gets very hot when shooting an extended session.  There's also too many itty, bitty parts for my taste, like that piece of foam in the trigger spring or the nylon washers in the sear pack.

Your failed attempt is falling on deaf ears.  If I wanted something that felt like a 2x4 in my hand I'd buy a 2x4.

Hmmmm, a Kimber.  And the same gun in every malfunction.
At least mine don't do this.

or this,

or this.

I've had 2 glocks, one spent more time getting fixed than it did in my holster.  Glock finally gave me a new gun, I sold them all and bought M&P's with factory thumb safety's like this one.

giggle....

i had a glock once upon a time....

one time, i was taking a poop, and the glock fell out of my IWB holster into the toilet as i was pulling down my pants....

i kinda stood there slouched over the toliet with a puzzled look in my eyes for a second, and just sat down and pooped, then flushed...

after i washed my hands, i took the gun out of the toliet with my "moon rock grabber" put it back in the case and sold it

it was a Glock 17L

and thats my experience with the Glock in the Taco Mac on chastain road in kennesaw

p.s.- i own page two

S30series says he has one for sale.....

Getting a throat and tune job.  It's a Seecamp, not a true 1911. My 1911's run great. My M&P's are flawless.

Actually it's 524.25 OTD. , at least that is the tax on 489.95. I'm not saying I have anything for sale, just making a mathematical certainty. As opposed to others the COC in the HTF actually [and CORECTLY] precludes me and everyone else from selling in the HTF.

Bottom line shit happens. Question reloads that you didn't do yourself. Or don't use them at all. ANYTHING can break given the right circumstances. Oh, and nothing more said because evidently I don't post for a few days and it's time for the quarterly Glocks vs. everything else debate. You all go outside and play or something.

I have decided to get a Glock and was planning on going to Ed's to get it a 180 miles round trip but $30 worth of gas to save $115 is worth it. Does anyone know if I can ride up there and do the GSSF membership there and get the discount right then or do I need to apply first. I do plan on calling tomorrow just trying to go ahead and plan the trip if so.
