I have been a "citizen Soldier" for going on 12 years now, did 4 AD before that. I have seen guys that were actual Brain surgeons enlist just to serve, seen guys that were actually homeless and lived in their cars come in and serve.. I have seen families torn apart, jobs lost and every other unmentionable shitty thing happen to these guys, but they keep coming in. They keep going on deployments and they keep giving up everything for the privilege.... Guys like that inspire you. its those guys that are in the back of my mind when I make decisions, when I make recommendations to the Commander, when I have a loss of my own, that kept me in when I lost my family to the deployment. I wish you guys could see them training in person, know their stories and look in their eyes as I do. It truly is inspiring. I do what I do by choice, but there are those those do it out of a raw need to be something bigger than themselves, bigger than their lives..... I am impressed and humbled, daily by these men and women. I thank you all for your kind words and I will pass along you words to these men when I have the privilege of seeing them again.
Cool video BTW...
