ATLANTA (AP) -- Twelve men from Georgia, Kentucky and Alabama pleaded guilty Wednesday to federal charges relating to the unlawful manufacture, sale, and possession of machine guns.

Two more are expected to plead guilty on Jan. 17 in a case involving the seizure of 33 illegally made and owned machine guns, the U.S. Attorney's Office said.

"We must be vigilant against the proliferation of machine guns into our community," U.S. Attorney David Nahmias said.

Guilty pleas were entered by Larry Bush, 50, of Lawrenceville; Michael A. Miller, 49, Mark S. Miller, 43, J. Corey Adams, 28, and Huey Hutchinson, 66, of Carrollton; Kevin Bush, 42, South Shore, Ky.; Joseph Stanley Nabors, 49, Dallas, Ga.; Phillip Slaughter, 43, of Douglasville; Bruce Wade Wilkinson, 40, of Columbus; Rodney Williams, 44, Roopville; John Arrington, 33, of Heflin, Ala.; and Thomas Morrison, 42, Villa Rica.

Larry Bush, Michael Miller and Corey Adams admitted manufacturing and selling machine guns, and the others pleaded guilty to illegal possession, Nahmias said.

Whether it is speeding, robbing a bank or making illegal weapons, you shouldn't do the crime if you don't want to face the consequences of your actions

Well said!!

Carrolton?

I wonder if any of those fellas at Advanced (tm) Bullets were involved?  Maybe making up for the modest firing rate they encourage?

Do we know what they had or were making?

I don't know the details but from what I heard  they were welding sten parts kits back together and that they were felons to start with... But I am sure that it will be spun to hurt the whole of the gun community it always is right??? I don't remember the source maybe it was some talk with some local LE ???If memory serves these guys were busted like last year early???
Hope this helps...

Without saying much past the fact that I agree with Bookhounds comments about "knowing the consequences", I'll leave you with a quote from th Ayn Rand book Atlas Shrugged that I think captures the essence of what our government has become:

Did you really think that we want those laws to be observed?" said Dr. Ferris [government]. "We want them broken. You'd better get it straight that it's not a bunch of boy scouts you're up against - then you'll know that this is not the age for beautiful gestures. We're after power and we mean it. You fellows were pikers, but we know the real trick, and you'd better get wise to it. There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What's there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced nor objectively interpreted - and you create a nation of law-breakers - and then you cash in on guilt. Now that's the system, Mr. Rearden, that's the game, and once you understand it, you'll be much easier to deal with."

Sorry, I couldn't resist.  Too bad one of them wasn't named George or Jeb.

Of course even by the US v Miller case these men are guilty of nothing but SCOTUS is too busy stealing your property to be bothered.
