Got a letter a few weeks ago from General Motors about my exhaust converter on my car. They said might be a problem and if I had paid to fix it they would consider paying me for it. The car had over 90,000 miles when I had it replaced. They called me tonight and said look for the 1000$ check soon it was approved. This is the second time they have paid for a big ticket thing after my car was out of warranty. Last time it was 600$.

Actually, the emissions system has to be warrantied to about 100k.  They ain't doin' it out of the goodness of their hearts.
