stimpsonjcat,
I think your approach is the right one, but the biggest problem you'll face is the number of people (like me) who are not members and have no interest in joining BECAUSE of the rules. I've tried talking to the folks at South River and they just don't care that a guy interested in joining decided not to join because they don't allow NFA weapons (including suppressors!).
Assume you can get 50 guys to sign a petition stating they would join RBGC if certain rules would change. Do you think it would make a difference to them? I doubt it, but I've been wrong lots of times.
I doubt you could even find 10 guys who would actually commit to joining if rules changed. When the time comes to put your money where your mouth is, a lot of guys back away from the table.
So, where does that leave you and RB? I'll help in any way I can, but honestly, Pickens County is looking pretty darn good. They at least allow full-auto on Wednesdays. That's a start at least. They also allow firing after dark, you can move and shoot and they are talking about building a "shoot house". (We'll have to see if they follow through with that idea though.)
If RB had these kinds of things, I'd be seriously looking at them. If you have any suggestions, I'm all ears.
