We always go through MV on our way to Sevierville/Pigeon Forge around this time of year. I gave up on the weather forecasts for that area a few years ago. Now I always take the Land Cruiser and we leave the wife's 2wd wagon home for any winter trip. It's paid off bigtime the last two years. We'll be up there in ~2 weeks I hope.
