On my last visit to JR's in Burlington (August 2008), I noticed that the No Guns sign was gone!

From what I was told in CCW class is that you are not even allowed to have a weapon on bank property.

With regards to Concord Mills Mall...I was just there this past weekend, and went up to entrance #7 (could have been #6).  I did NOT see a sign at all about guns.  Do I need to look closer next time?

Concord Mills list no weapons in with the long list of other rules it has posted at it's entries.  I pay it no mind since it's not easily recognized or visible.

I am NOT playing DA....but when one publicly admits they are aware of something, unless it really can be shown to be improper and unlawful, one has just admitted to knowing about it and planning to ignore it. Kinda tough to get offf that should they locate this post above. I'd hate to see anyone lose their permit by stating they knew of a restriction.

Just a thought,
Walsh

Verizon in the Arboretum in Charlotte NO LONGER has its sign up. I complained months ago. I guess more did so too.

If you see a shop with a sign anywhere, drop in and say "sorry, I was going to buy something here but not since you refuse to acknowledge my rights."

Time Warner is anti-gun.  I read an article a while back about how much money they give to anti-gun advocacy groups....(It was a lot).

But, a lot of companies are:   http://www.nraila.org/issues/factsheets/read.aspx?id=15

There are no postings at the Sears Garden entrance or at any of the Belk entrances of the Carolina Mall. It's a longer walk but I always go in at Sears or Belks.
If you go to Concord Mills they have replaced most of their doors and did not replace the postings. I know that the entrance at Books-A-Million and the Nascar entrance are not posted anymore. If you come in at the side movie entrances they are not posted. You can also come into Bass Pro but it is still posted if you enter the mall from there.

This is a very interesting topic/thread. I'm going to start paying closer attention to some of our regular hangouts as I'm oing for my CCP in the next few weeks.

Thanks to all who have posted. I'll see what I can find up here in the Salisbury, Kannapolis, Concord area.

Harris Teeters in NC are now posting signs that forbid concealed carry.

My wife is the Branch manager at a Credit Union in SC.  The Credit Union posts their branches with those cheap, plastic wood grain, engraved signs that are not in compliance with the state law.
I asked her about it once.  She just grinned and said "It keeps everybody happy.  The people that wouldn't want to be around guns don't know the law, so they feel more comfortable because they think there are no guns in here.  Those who have the proper permit know that the sign is bogus, and that they can still legally carry concealed in here.  It's a win-win."
I like the way she thinks.

That's not what it said. it said "NO LOADED FIREARMS INSIDE" it has since been amended to also say "except permit holders."

No loaded firearms is a pretty common rule for gun stores.

I don't think that is right.  THe only place that is completely off limits regarding property is Schools.  Any school property is off limits...so having a gun in your trunkn in the parking lot of a school (any school, colleges apply) is a crime.  Bank property is not included in this manner to my understanding.  It is just INSIDE the bank that you have to disarm.  On the sigforum, there was a guy there who told me how he routinely open carries in a bank.  The wording is that concealed carry is not allowed...there is nothing with regards to open carry and how it relates to banks...but your your own due dilligence.  Don't go walking into a bank open carrying until you look into this closer.

15-415.11 section c covers this and  mentions only Conceald carry

As a former long-term customer of the TWC-now-Spectrum monopoly, I can see why they would be wise to. Their customer service was the worst and they did not care. As soon as a competitor moved into town, I jumped. TWC responded by lowering their cable service to 18% of former price structure. They should sell bottled water to natural disaster-torn countries for $40/bottle with that business model.

In NC, must be locked in car on ANY educational property. This is a trap as many outdoor parks are jointly operated in conjunction with elementary and middle schools. Also, some local government councils are illegally adopting Codes that prohibit concealed handguns in parks/greenways which are funded by State and Federal governments and in violation of their laws.  Local Park/Rec Departments post deceiving signage regarding weapons. Signage is often vandalized. Local park rules are unreliable to research on-line and need be read on location. Good luck.

DO NOT carry on Federal Land in NC...this includes USACOE such as reservoirs and Parklands (Gamelands are State-operated).
State Parks are legal EXCEPT for inside buildings where employees have assigned work. The bathrooms are generally ok as they have two entrances (or separate unoccupied building) and you can use the door to outside.

Having a gun in public while drinking is highly unwise as if you are in an altercation and even flash, it is considered use of deadly force and likely will end badly for you in court. Have the tea.

Parades and gatherings where admission is charged are out. "Recreational Facilities" are quirky so be forewarned. Government Buildings of any level are totally out.
RE: NCGS 14-415-23; NCGS 14-269; NCGS 14-277. Beware SJW's and Karens who will call the cops if they even hear a word that rhymes with "gun" over their earbuds and self-absorbed entitlement.
