Not really into ATV's, can you outline the "bad" stuff?  Not doubting your word at all, but most of the stuff I read in there is common sense stuff (to me that don't know jack about ATV's)

Thanks!

Just wondering, what part of that bill don’t you like?

Do you think the whole thing is wrong?

ETA: I have an ATV.

Damn, I wish SC would push something like that for boats.

Well, the restriction on age of children vs size of machine, for one.

No person under 12 can ride an ATV.

Have to be 16 years old to ride bigger than 90cc.

My son is 11, he has a 100 CC, and is about grown out of it.  My 9 YO daughter rides it easily.

Don't need any more laws.

They can't enforce this thing.  How many kids run around with an ID?

It's unfortunate that these types of laws need to be written. They are not written for parents with good common sense. They are written because some parents tend not to give a crap what their kids do or how they do it.

If you have any doubts, I will be happy to direct you to several pediatric orthopedic or neurologic disfunction centers.

I see your point, as a parent it should be your discussion on when you allow your children to ride an ATV.

I have one and never wear a helmet.

Holy Crap. Who in the hell came up with this. This is my favorite part:(no person shall operate an all‑terrain vehicle in a careless or reckless manner so as to endanger or cause injury or damage to any person or property.)
Taking all the fun out of it. Sure glad I don't live in NC anymore, I would be paying fines out the wazoo.

A revised bil has passed the NC senate.  I updated the link to the revised bill.

This is bad stuff.  I hope you freedom lovers have called your reps.
