So glad to hear that the homeowner is okay and can't wiat to hear that no charges will be filed against him. OTOH I am sorry to hear that the scumbag might live.

It is St Looney, so "registration" wouldn't surprise me in the least. St Looney is after all, just a few feet from being Ill-noise.

lol I was wondering the same thing, it doesn't need to be registered and you don't need a permit. Don't get me wrong though there's people out there who would love to make you fill out more paperwork. Yeah to know he's not dead and could possibly seek vengeance(although hopefully he learned his lesson) is something to consider. So many people have been getting shot lately in the country because well people keep trying to break into homes. Don't think they'll learn either though as the economy continues to tank.
I don't want anyone dead, but you really would hope that they'd just stop trying to steal. |

What sucks is the bad guy will more than likely sue the homeower... Some type of civil case B.S. and win a shit ton of money...

Read something in GD about this and could it have been in East STL? The permit comment would make more sense if it was IL not MO where this happened. Does I have castle doctrine?

I still don't believe Illinois requires permits to simply have them in the house. Maybe I'm nuts though.

Actually I was told that I myself don't need a permit, but that my gun needs a permit because its known to spring up on its own and run around the neighborhood shooting at people. I feel safer being protected from guns that way.

no permit required.....but if the media makes comments all the time about how so and so had all the permits required and they were completely legal...would only be a matter of time before its more acceptable to require the permits that weren't required but somehow previously present to make things ok. make sense?
Good for the home owner, but someone needs to teach him the "one story" rule about dealing with home invasions and CCW situations! Hopefully the scumbag doesnt come back to the homeowners house for revenge! We can always hope for a bad bacterial infection and a painful death for the scumbag who broke in right? |

But this article said St Louis, I'm sure KSDK at minimum knows the difference between Illinois and Missouri, I would hope anyway. |

Have to have a FOID card in IL. Just to buy one! If you move into state with them you have to have a FOID card to own.
