Here in columbia it was crazy. i was standing on the front porch in the door watching it rain when i hate to use the ole redneck description but, "i heard what sounded like a freight train". That was the only time i contemplated heading for the basement , never actually saw anything but i was starting to wonder. In all honesty a more apt description would be like standing on a runway and whole crap load of jets taking off right next to you. HAIL, RAIN, and CRAZY WIND and more HAIL.. man that was the weirdest storm i can remember for a long long time. Thihgs were definitley getting hairy there for awhile.

Nope.. got hail damage on the wife's Pacifica. Already making plans to see the insurance guy tomorrow. Hope I can continue to dodge any hail with the truck. |
We did ok here in Arnold but that one tornado went right over a friends house. Hopefully I will see him at work tomorrow and get some details.
Funny thing is he was going to have a bonfire last night, we were going but with the weather the way it was we decided it would be better not to go at all. |
Got golf ball sized hail at my place in Columbia.
Yesterday's rain turned my hill into a waterfall. |
Thats better than some of the folks in pattis county got , i was hearing bout houses wiped out and folks trapped in destroyed houses. But i know how the hail damage thing sucks, twice since i have had my truck its been to Dent's Unlimited for repair. Call them guys Rob, they are the shiznig when it comes to repairing hail damage and that is more than likely where your insurance is gonna tell ya to go anyway. Good luv\ck tomorrow dealing with the insurance company. |
We had marble sized, I threw on the steel pot and went to the yard to fetch some. My gf said I was crazy, then was supprised of the size of them.
Ya, we had golf ball size hail yesterday and today on my side of town. I know i saw some bigger as well today but i wasnt about to try and go out and get picture lol. What part of town are you in? I live over by UPS . I was actually @ finger lakes shooting when the sirens started going off, didnt take long to pack up and get the hell out of dodge , thankfully beat all the bad stuff home by about 5 minutes. |
Dam, i didnt even think of checking out my duplex to see if there was any damage altho judging by the sounds the hail was making it is hard to beleive there isnt any. |
My Girlfriend lives over by UPS, on Sylvan. Haven't been to see if there is any damage there yet. Here comes round 2, hopefully it will miss us this time hinking.gif
Just got a spot of almost golfball sized hail in Blue Springs.
Guess I live just far enough south here in Columbia...we had high winds (40 - 50 mph), very little rain, but no hail or what I would consider "severe" weather
Been sitting here most of the day watching Wilson Combat gun smithing videos....
After watching them...I'm not sure I'd buy a Wilson gun. Seems to be a lot of "good old boy" gunsmithing and not much "precision" smith work. I have no doubt about the quality of their individual products, just their full assembly / smithing work. |
Had quarter size hail up in St. Joseph.. Didnt do any dammage.
no shit, l live on sylvan as well, right across from the old folks home |
Quit hijacking my thread ass munch with your complaints about wilson videos, we all know your watching gay porn. And another thing, CHANGE YOUR AVATAR DAMMIT!!!! Everyone knows your not that good looking lol. |
It has been night of the tornadoes here in the Marion/Monroe county area.
Well, I didn't know it was Gay Porn...it was the video you brought over and wanted to watch with me so bad. Btw...how's this for a new Avatar I've got all kinds of good ones. I've had a digital camera for about as long as we've known each other Seriously though...I hope everyone stay's safe tonight! |
Hang on this shit's supposed to be coming thru Jeff City right about now. I'm gonna see if I've got enough Justinite left to kick its ass.
Will update later... |
Sirens went off here in Sparta and I don't know why--seems like most of the weather went North of us, but the night is young.
Looks like my folks' farm up in Polk county had some nasty stuff and their land lines and cell phones aren't working. Dad is out in Arizona right now and mom's all by her lonesome taking care of the homestead, so I might head up there tonight to check on her once things calm down here. |
couple of gusts here in south county but that's been all so far.
Meh, nothing but 40-50 mph winds here with some 1/2"-1" hail.
We may still get tagged by another one but it looks like most of it will be sliding north of here. |
Yup scared the bastard north. |
My day was crazy, 3-4 hail storms with golfball size hail. winds strong enough to rip shingles and tree limbs off. BTW this was southern Platte CO.
I was at work all nite. We had to "hit the shelter", as the tornado that hit Marionville literally skipped right over our heads here in Verona. Interesting nite! But we are all fine, as is all family near the damaged areas.
We had sparratic hail last night and high winds and rain, but no tornadoes spotted. Im on E Sunshine. I did pick up some hail stones after the storm so they had melted some, but one of them was more than 3" across.

Duke is the one I thouhgt of. That Sedalia storm was awful close to Holden.
Duke, you still there Bro? |
You've prabably read about the lady who died when her trailer home was dropped on her by now. That is 1.75 to 2.5 miles from where we took shelter from the storm at my parents house here in Sedalia (Pettis County). Same tornado traveled north-west passing south of my parents house 700-1000 yards away, awsome sight. Returned afterwords to my house across town to find hail about golf ball size covering the ground in enough quantity to look like it snowed. Oddly, at my parents nearer the tornado, the hail was only about the diameter of a quarter. Our cars, house paint, house windows, and most anything outside was damaged by the wind and wind driven hail. The hail was also particularly hard on vinyl siding.
I'm still here. We were in and out of the cellar all night till about 11:30. Holden got hit with two tornadoes, but the shop is ok and my house is ok. Body shop a couple blocks away had its sign blown down and there are limbs everywhere. Supposedly one of the tornadoes rotated right over the Warrensburg airport but didn't touch down, it just rolled its way right over it. That could have been expensive!
Good to see you all made it through the night. Sounds like you guys got it a lot worse than us. We had some hail, but nothing like those baseballs in the picture. Need to check out the truck when I get home in the daylight.
Hope everyone is OK. |
I hope everyone is okay. I also was worried about Duke.
Note to self "Buy a weather radio!" |
weather said there was a 1/2 mile wide tornado north of warrensburg But I haven't seen any damage
Damn, That is only about .5 miles from my house. I drive by this everyday. They are still restringing some of the power lines. The only damage I had was some roof shingles damaged. There was/is small pieces of debris in my yard. Mostly insulation. Perhaps it came from some of the houses that were destroyed in Nixa. |
Well damn what side of the lake are you on. I live just south of Evans road off of Sussex |
I know this thread is referring to the march storm, but the one we just had was much worse around here than the last. A man was killed in circle city just north of Sikeston, and 60% of the town of Caruthersville was LEVELED. Its a disaster area down there. Anybody else have trouble last weekend??
here in cloumbia we had some pretty strong winds and some hail but nothing like the last big one in march. tonight here at work it's starting to look pretty nasty outside, again.
Wha? Aw man, not again! |
I know what ya mean Duke, i'm getting tired of this weather myself!!! |

I hear that, I guess tommorrow is going to yet again be interesting... On Thursday, this system will begin its trek across the Plains, likely producing a severe weather outbreak. Hailstorms could develop early across parts of Nebraska and Iowa, followed by supercell thunderstorms forming across Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. These storms will be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail, and tornadoes. People in the above areas need to pay close attention to rapidly changing weather conditions and heed any warnings that are issued for their county. By Friday, this storm system could produce severe weather from the Southeast to the Ohio Valley. This from weather.com |
