Duke, ouch....give that thing some Viagra. man i can say you had a bad newyear is a understatment. i gope te barell pin wasnt in there and you can salavage the receiver.

Time to KRINK-i-fy that AK.
You can probably still salvage it if the bend isn't too far down. My 4" barreled AK is shorter than that I think. Next time think 'barrel vise"!!!! Happy frickin new whatever!! |

We are actually making an entire line of AK's built with barrels like that. We scored a big contract with the Palestinians and are rushing to fill it as soon as possible. |

Oh yeah Karl, I have a pic for you. PS the trigger on this gun is done and won't be an issue from now on.
 BTW, we DID get a bunch of stuff accomplished at the shop this weekend. For every thing that goes wrong, like that barrel, we learn a little more about how things work and how to do it better next time. And then there are alot of things that go right even though its the first time we've ever even tried it, like making the holes in the receiver for the little latch that holds a Bugarian sidefolder in the folded position.   And we did ALOT of bluing this weekend, so it really was a pretty decent new year's all told. Soon we should have a fully restored 1897 Winchester pump to show off, I caught Kerry putting the barrel in the bath.

You got me a little worried there bud (just kidding). I hope you guys do well with the shop this year. I'll be in touch with you some day about a AK build. Maybe in 5.45x39? Not sure yet. |

Just Kidding some of the Romy AKs are so tight you need excessive force to install the barrels! You need a proper Barrel fixture and a little TLC to do it right! Hey Marshall! Come by the shop sometime! I shoot out there in Wellsville from time to time give me a shout and we'll go blasting! |

The Bluing really does not call for it but you should have seen Duke spraying Moly Resin without one! Standing in a cloud of MEK laced mist! If I work with the dry chemicals I will use a dust mask or respirator..... Besides in that room if you use a respirator when running it needs to be supplied air due to the heat and humidity! Got a spare Scott Air pack?

Duke, I always wondered what century had in mind with those canted front sight blocks. Must go on a model from your press. Seriously, How are your recievers going. I still want you to build me a pistol from an AMD kit that I have. Hope things are going well. From the pics you have some nice pieces you are turning out. CB

Our receivers are going much better. Especially compared to some very expensive recievers that we recently acquired after a long delay, which were QUITE disappointing in quality control.

True.....  Took a while but this one worked fine.... and I have yet to make one that the bolt would not even go in like some expensive to remain nameless receivers....
