im sure i could find this out if i called the state police office but i will ask here. My father lives in Ohio and when he went to get his CCW they accepted our NRA Pistol Instructors Certification. My question is does KY go by the same thing or is there a "Special" class i would have to take? I am a Certified NRA Pistol instructor so i have that as well

KY requires you to take the specific class that DOCJT has established. It is required by statute..

I took mine at Shooter's in April 2009. At the time, there was about a two month wait to get into the class but I'm sure it as slowed down some. Tim is a great instructor, BTW.

Shortly after I took mine, a couple friends did their's at Randy's. I don't think they had any wait and their class went much quicker as it was only them and they didn't have to wait for everyone else on the range portion.

Took mine at Shooters from the link above. Easy, detailed, in and out in under 8 hours.

Just don't take it with those who have craptastic aim; you'll be stuck waiting for them to try again.
