Yes, that's very good to know. I've come across several prebans recently but didn't bother buying them not knowing if I'd have a place to sell them. |

Thanx...the nice part is that they verified the serial number themselves. I didn't have to come up with a 40.00 cert. letter from Oly Arms. |

Look in the magwell and inside the receiver for lighter grey anodizing where the paint would not get to, or would be scraped off. My EAgle Arms had that paint. Looked like hell so I stripped it off. Still looks like hell, but it's not cheesy 80's paint. |
|
You can also have it stripped and Cerakoted or anodized again.

Definitely looks parkerized. It doesn't look bad, though. Look, you bought a preban for a reasonable price which made for you to acquire an AR15 in CT. You can't be too selective... just be happy you got one. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

You can't be too selective... just be happy you got one. Oh...I am very happy. It could be pink with dots for all I care as long as it functions and from the little knowledge I have, there is not a whole lot to go wrong with a lower as long as it comes close to spec. Then again....what do I know. |

Don't worry about finish at all.
Looks just like mine I had since 90s. Approx 10k thru it no problems. Congrats and enjoy! Also, if so desire, contact Oly arms for a cert date range for the S/N. Not that it is required but, $37 last I remember for piece of mind. |

Nice buy ewet!
Def don't worry about the finish. Im looking for a pre-ban and for one reason only - so I have a lower I don't mind experimenting on with paint! bahahaha Something about a brand new lower makes me feel bad about rattle canning it. But a pre ban - the shit is 20 years old, who cares! |

Is this Oly receiver cast? No it's forged. The point I was making is that people talk down on cast lowers....not here really just in general. But my hardest ran rifle is on a cast lower, and I don't have issues and am never worried that it will fall apart in my hands |

Yeah there are people here with M16 conversions on cast lowers. Ruger made the cast lowers at pine tree. Same place that casts their super strong GP100 frames, etc. |

Let me ask you guys....since it had a Colt HBAR upper on it I hope that does not mean that the take down holes are the large ones???
I didn't really think about this earlier. |

Pics say you're fine, look at the rear hole in relation to the front. They're the same size

Probably just my imagination but now that I really look at left side, the rear looks a bit larger than the front hole. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

The rear hole is not the one to look for, only the front ones will be the "larger size". I belive colt was the only one that had the odd sized pin. ETA: and the dead give away with colts is it will have a flat head screw for a front take down pin. |

I was in your shoes 10 short months ago. If you pay attention you can learn a lot from these guys!

Congrats, enjoy, don't worry, be happy and oh yeah, Fuck Dan Malloy
