When: October 23, 2003 11:00 AM.
Where: Inside the State House
On October 23, 2003 Gun Owners’ Action League will be conducting a “Lobby Day” at the State House in Boston. This is an opportunity for our members to discuss with their local State Representatives and Senators the mistreatment of gun owners in our Commonwealth. For five years the gun owners of Massachusetts have been waiting for the legislature to take action in correcting the misdeeds that have been done against them, ranging from the unchecked discretionary licensing system, to the fraudulent Attorney General’s regulations on handguns, to the outrageous new freedom taxes charged to citizens wishing to own a firearm. The unfair burdens placed on us have gone well beyond what any sensible person should have to put up with. It is time for the legislature to do the right thing and fix a corrupted unworkable system that continually hamstrings hard working lawful citizens. GOAL
will begin the event with a speech from
Michael D. Yacino, followed by comments from legislators that will be joining us. After the speaking portion of the event, GOAL will distribute lobbying materials. We’ll give you the latest updates on what bills are pending, make sure that you have names and room numbers
of the representatives and senators from your area. The event will kick off at 11:00 AM. Since the State House has new “security” measures in place, GOAL suggests that our members begin arriving at least one hour earlier in order to check in firearms and get through the checks. We
hope that many private citizens will make plans to attend. Additionally, we urge every club to send a group of delegates. It is very important that GOAL know in advance who will be attending so that we can have sufficient materials on hand. Call 508-393-5333 and ask for Jim or Nancy when you decide to be a part of Lobby Day 2003!
