Note, the VDOT lot we usually park in is now closed off.   New step off point at Americana Park by the ball field.

This is a low-profile hike.  With daylight savings time, Karens will be around.  That combined with the new step off location, no long guns or battle rattle.  Feel free to sport helmets and NODs.

We're going to do the southern route again this week. Head south, wander the trails and turn around at the lake.

Standard boilerplate follows;
PM me if you need directions to the step off point.
Step off will be at dusk, so bring a head lamp or flashlight if you're scared of the dark.  NODs are always in season.  
Leashed K9's are welcome.  We will see deer and other critters so use your judgement.
Wear good boots / socks.  
Bring water.
Return trip will be in the dark.  Bring lighting of your choice.

Well, the rain should be ending around 7:00, so we'll take the muddiest route available.

How was it guys?  See any Leprechauns and did SOL go the opposite direction?

SOL did wander off for a bit chasing after some creature he could only see on his thermal, so . . .

That thing was badass, tho.

I did manage to stay within recognizable territory-- It's good to be with such a support group!
Quite a scenic night. Saw two mice. I think most of us saw the fox that was watching us at the turnaround.
MBGs dog made something in the leaves that looked like a pattern of Christmas lights.  
Geese on the water look like alien creatures.
Overall, good hike last night.
Worked up a decent sweat and the fog and moonlight made for some pretty cool scenery.

Work got me per usual with some 60-70 hour weeks. But able to go out any day of week next week (taking a week off). See you all next week!
