I'm in NorVa.  Had an incident.  Investigation is ongoing.  May need an attorney.  Any recommendations for one who has experience with Firearms/Concealed Carry would be what I'm needing.

Thanks.

If in Fairfax, I recommend Jenna Sands of Hamilton, Petrocelli, Sprissler, & Sands - former Fairfax Country prosecutor. Insanely plugged in...

Good luck and God speed!  When it’s over, I would appreciate any lessons learned you can share.

It appears that the issue is resolved.  There were several lessons learned but nothing I can share until the statute of limitations passes.  I think that's a year. One that I can share is if you carry a firearm for protection, get the insurance.  Thankful it looks like I won't need it.  I will be getting it very soon.

I didn't see the rec for the lawyer in Fairfax.  Sounds like she is a good one.  The guy I ended up retaining is Stephen Sulzer.  I was very pleased with him.  Seemed to have a firm grasp on firearms related law.

I'll try to come back to this and post lessons learned when I can.

What's the insurance? Never heard of it.

He's probably referring to Carry Guard and similar self defense insurance plans that the leftists are trying to shut down.

Yes.

Liability in case you end up shooting someone as well as insurance to cover legal expenses.  I've been advised the NRA Carry Guard is woefully inadequate...to put it nicely.  I have not done a comparison myself.

Any generalities you can share with us Virginians that won't affect the advice of your lawyer?

Lessons learned, etc?

VCDL has a comparison of some of the different carry insurance providers here, BTW.

Thanks.

I'm with USCCA but will read the chart to see if there are better options.
