Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Safe to travel with my guns in a car?

Hello guys, quick question.


I Moved from Texas to IL a couple of years ago leaving behind my guns.  I want to bring them now and If I have to take a flight then rent a car and drive its fine.  I do have my foid card already as well.

My question is. Is it safe to bring my guns in a car and also since they are in el paso Tx I know there is check points when leaving El Paso. Is there any concern I need to be aware of?  I don't mind taking them apart for traveling whatever to bring them safe to IL.

In a closed case and unloaded for transport in IL is the common way.
