We're meeting at 9 so we probbaly wont go hot until 9:30; in the past we have usually shot for 8-9 hours throughout the day but a lot depends on turnout and weather.  Both previous years had weather in the 90's so i'm hoping that with cooler weather we will shoot longer.

Ok, I am seriously thinking of making the trip. What guns are not ok at your range? Was gonna bring a 308, 556 maybe a 45-70 and a few machine guns.

I think just about anything is "ok".  I've got AR500 steel and shoot plenty of 308.  Up to you

Canons may not be acceptable.  Maybe...  ;)  Looking forward to putting eyes on a bunch of you guys again.  Oh, and maybe some trigger time too!

Prize box is ready. I wonder what's inside.......?????
Winner of MOA Challenge will find out. There's enough for 2nd and 3rd place, too.
Probably should limit challenge to AR15 pattern rifles to keep things fair.
We could have a separate challenge for bolt guns if needed and time is available.
ETA: There could be a gag prize in there too....???

If the weatherman is correct, 'looks like it's going to be a beautiful day for shooting.
Chris' range has protection from the woods on the east side, so maybe the light east wind won't toy with our bullets.....#MOACHALLENGE

Yup and will do.  Looking forward to it and thanks for sharing!

Everything looks good for tomorrow; i plan to get there around 8:30 (ish) to setup a few things.  I know a few of you guys will be there a little early to do the same.  I plan on setting two blue 50 gallon drums by the highway at the entrance to our farm, i figure this will help people find the place if needed.

Here is a rough breakdown i have in mind for starters tomorrow:

8:30-9ish: arrive, setup, gear up, sign waivers, quick briefing/intro by myself.

9:15-10:30 (or however long it takes): confirm zeroes if needed, zero weapons that you plan to shoot throughout the day

10:30-12ish: MOA challenge for those interested, working back with distance

12ish: chill/lunch/etc

After lunch: Whatever the hell everyone wants to do is fine with me

This is just a rough timeline and certainly is subject to change if people would prefer to do something different.   For those of you who are bringing new guns to test fire/cycle/etc we can do that whenever you would like but i would prefer to get rifles zeroed first if they are guns you wish to shoot throughout the day.

I'm a very approachable and laid back kind of guys so PLEASE feel free to ask any questions at any time.  If you have concerns about any weapons/shooters/activities please address them to me ASAP.   I doubt anything should happen but i do reserve the right to ask anyone to leave at any time should any situations arrise; primarily regarding SAFETY.

I am open to shooting into the night should anyone be interested so i am on YOUR schedules; i want this to be fun and laid back so lets do what you guys wish to do.   I will probably shoot very little and that is fine with me; i enjoy hosting.

A few of the guys attending are close friends of mine and will be aiding in running a smooth day so if i'm not immediately available and you have concerns, please check with one of them (I will address this at 9am).   My cell number is below but will be removed tomorrow for privacy reasons.

If you need anything in the next 24 hours please call or text me as i may not check the forum again.

Looking forward to seeing and meeting everyone.

Chris

Awesome time at the shoot today. The highlights for me:
1) Seeing some familiar faces and meeting some great guys for the first time
2) MOA challenge and timed pistol draw to 1 shot on target competition was fun
3) P08's full auto rigs. Everyone was smiling

I'll post the results (with pics) of the MOA challenge and pistol competition soon.

Thanks Chris......he even let us pee anywhere we wanted!!!
It was great socializing and shopping the "flea market" set-up we had.
I know everyone had a great time.....even the fidgey spinner winner!

Wife's evil purple firearms are safely in the safe, dirty as the rest of everything from yesterday.

Who wants to go shooting this weekend?

Thank you to Chris for hosting.  It's very gracious of you to share such an amazing range.

P08 - Thank you for the full auto love.  Another line on the bucket list has been scratched off!

AlphaRomeo15 - Thanks for the target stand, targets and setup of the MOA challenge.  Very generous of you to supply those prizes as well!

I love getting a chance to see some of the same faces and meeting some new friends as well.  Loved watching you guys try to eliminate the Taliban laundry detergent.  Always fun to back up to 500 and see what a lowly 75gr of lead and copper can do.

I just want to thank everyone for coming out; i feel the shoot was a great success and the best event we've had yet!  Thank you to everyone for your maturity, safety practices, comedic input, and time; i really enjoyed seeing some familiar faces and meeting some new people.   I hope to continue to host an annual arfcom shoot each year.

If anyone has any suggestions for the range or any future events, feel free to chime in.  I'm always looking to improve the range or the shoot.

Several of you inquired about my "Range Rack" as I call it. Below are a couple of pics, with some build specs. to follow. Mine will support 12 rifles, but it could be built to accommodate any number of rifles. I don't know how practical it would be to make it any bigger than my prototype since it is about 50" wide. 6 to 8 would be more manageable to be honest.
(2nd pic nabbed from Druwzfostr's Google Album posted above) All my AR's are 5.56, so you'll have to fudge the design to make it work for an AR9 or AR10.

Built using 1 X 4 boards.
Ends are 16" long.
For uprights that go into magwells: rip 1 X 4 to 2 3/8" wide, my uprights are were cut to 8" long.
Uprights are 4 1/4" on center.
Painted with flat black rattle can.
