"I will strongly oppose gun control! Brian Blake" If only they were all like that... For those like me, it helps to have a template. Here is what I used: .... As a constituent and concerned Washington State citizen, head of family, business owner and active voter, I ask you to oppose House Bill 2240. Countless law-abiding citizens, such as myself, own and use magazines that hold more than fifteen rounds of ammunition. They are standard equipment for many of the most commonly-owned firearms in use for self-defense, competition, hunting, and recreational shooting. While 2240 allows citizens to keep the standard capacity magazines they owned prior to the ban, the restrictions make it next to impossible to use these magazines for self-defense. Please don't restrict my ability to protect myself and my loved ones. There's no reason to believe that criminals will have any more respect for new gun laws that will only restrict self-defense rights of law-abiding citizens like me. Instead of exploring more ways to take away my rights, the Legislature should be looking to reduce crime by going after criminals and their illegal activities directly. .... |

Right to the top.
Men it will literally take you less than 4 minutes to copy that list and fire off a few emails. I highly suggest that you cut the list in half so that your email doesn’t take a month of Sundays to get out. I’ve been sending three per day. Make sure that you put OPPOSE HB2240 in the subject line. It is most likely all that will be read. They will hear you if you speak. Be heard!!!!! Please link up your social media. My son has all of his buddies in his dorm writing emails. Get your adult kids involved!!!!! |

Resent a bunch this morning. I am still hitting the big list of email addresses and varying my subject lines and content. Let's keep it up, we need to be just as fanatical as the opposition and I think that takes some doing as we are not delusional nanny-staters. Let's keep the fight going.

We are encouraged by the thousands of activists who have testified, rallied, e-mailed, and called in opposition to these bills. Simply put, guns are not the problem. Mass shootings are a symptom of a society that must address mental health and not enforcing laws on the books.
