I have to choose between paying the mortgage this month or vehicle tabs. Is there a way around this? I heard people are registering their cars outside of the zone, can I do that with a PO Box?
Has anyone been able to pull that off? No I do not have a Tesla |
|
No, using a PO Box won't work for you. I would not advise trying anything to commit fraud here as they are putting effort in to cracking down and the penalties will be much worse.

No but they are the dumb fucks who inflicted this upon themselves. Zero sympathy from me when the electorate in King County didn't take the time to sit down and actually think it all through. Spend more than a manned mission to Mars on a transportation network that will be outdated the minute it's finished. Sounds like a great plan to me. ST2 went way over budget and never actually completed. Prior history being a fairly good predictor of future performance, what makes the voters in King County believe that ST3 will ever be completed on time and on budget? Not only that, but they're planning on running commuter trains over the I90 floating bridge. That has never been done before...with good reason. Because it is patently idiotic to run two 300+ ton commuter trains running in opposite directions at 55+ miles per hour over an inherently unstable structure subject to the constant stresses of tidal forces, currents, wave forces, storms, and wind forces. NO OTHER CITY IN THE WORLD HAS EVER ATTEMPTED SUCH A THING! Not only that, but should a derailment occur on the floating bridge portion, that train isn't stopping until it is 200+ feet down on the bottom. Certain death for anyone riding it. Nobody in their right mind is going to ride that death-trap! I cannot believe that the King County electorate is so incredibly ignorant and gullible to vote for such stupidity. Not only that, but there are plenty of youtube video's of homeless people riding/living/sleeping on transit buses. Many videos of these people and their possessions infested and literally crawling with bedbugs. Who the hell wants to ride public transportation sitting next to these people and their disgusting nastiness? |

I just barely escaped the RTA by being on the west side of the Narrows in Gig Harbor. New tabs for two vehicles the other day, 120. Still too damn high but I've heard of some guys with average vehicles in the RTA getting dinged for a grand or more.

We have 5 cars amongst 2 licensed drivers. Yeah don't ask.
Two of them are less than 3 years old. I also have a motorcycle that is 3 years old. Between those 3 items right there, we are approaching 90-100 additional dollars PER MONTH taken by these thieves. Poof gone. That's more than any raise I've gotten in the last 10 years and I make pretty decent money for the area. One car and one motorcycle may be going bye bye in the spring. |

FWIW. I just moved to Yakima and my tabs renewal was $68 for a 2015 Escape. Last year it was $100 something IIRC. Glad I moved.

Beyond that, once you chop off Seattle, Tacoma, Olympia (and west-of-5 suburbs) and Vancouver, there wouldn't be enough leftists left to make a difference. It's all about math: If you cut out the Sea-Tac-Oly metro-area, the remaining liberals won't have enough votes to make a difference. And those of us behind JBLM (which is as Republican an area as you will find in this state: Yelm, etc) or out in the eastern-end of Pierce & King Co (land of 5-acre lots and again, NOT liberal) won't be stuck in a 'state' that votes further left than Cali. |

There's starting to be talk about cutting Seattle out of King County to form a "Seattle County". County level people are tired of everything going the way Seattle wants and sucking up all their resources. OK, now I'm fucking livid.
Seattle Mayoral candidate Jenny Durkan thinks it's a bright idea to offer a free college education to every Seattle high school graduate. Where's the money going to come from, you ask? Well according to KOMO: According to the plan, potential funding sources would include 2018 Families and Education Levy, sweetened beverage tax revenues or the Puget Sound Taxpayer Accountability Account created by Sound Transit 3. Yeah, we're fourth generation WA but we'll be retiring somewhere else... I wanted to retire here, but I just don't see that happening. Between the ST3 scam/thievery and Turd Ferguson constantly pushing his "assault weapons" and high capacity magazine ban...I just don't see the point any more. I was in northern Idaho around the Hayden/Rathdrum/Coeur d'Alene area looking at homes and acreage with a realtor from Pehr Black Real Estate last weekend. I think I am going to start slowly selling my rentals here and buyng in that area. I can get far more house for the money and the property taxes are substantially cheaper.
