I wouldn't. But that's just me. Why sell a perfectly good rifle to fund one that costs more and uses the same ammo?

7.62 x 39...thier purpose is so that they can switch to a heavier round for tracking in the woods...less deflection and fragmentation. Reason number two is so that you only have to carry one rifle and get the benefit of two....most commom ammo is the 5.56 and 7.62....you can take it from both sides

You'd be carrying 1 1/2 rifles, plus two kinds of mags and two kinds of ammo, none of them in the supply chain if these are .mil.

The ar mags work with 7.62 ammo....10 rnds go in just before the bend without jamming...try it!

Ive got an AR47, its fun to shoot. But I wouldnt bother with a conventional lower myself having to buy more caliber specific mags to get reliable feeding, ie old franken mags or the cproducts ones.
Mines similar to this one.

My advice is to stick with what you have and spend the extra funds on ammo and training.
It sure is neat to have all the cool toys, but it don't mean shit if you don't know how to use them to their full potential. |

If you want one , then get one. The same as any other caliber conversion Just dont sell something you like that works for you to fund a "maybe", and dont forget to get the proper mags for it. I bought my Colt upper with bolt for $350ish. Took off the A2 upper and put on a DPMS low-pro with the thicker walls since I had to mill out some for the AK mag to clearance the upper. Everything in the AR47 with the exception of the mag release and lower with a CavArms front takedown pin is stock AR parts. The upper and bolt carrier have had some grinding done to them, although both would be useable in a .223/standard AR magazine rifle.

Yes, but he was also tallking about putting 10 ak cartridges in an AR mag. Not a good idea for a bug-out weapon, or anything you need to rely on. |
