Was on the Eastside last week for fall turkey. I shot my biggest bird yet. 9.75" beard and 1" spurs. Then I spent rest of the week hunting moose with my friend who purchased the governors tag this year. Now granted moose are as about as dumb as 2WP on a 3 day drunk but they are wiley. We passed up several bulls over the week looking for the right one. We finally found him but, our shooter was constantly in the wrong place at the wrong time. We ended up getting him in the right place but the shot was not as he would have liked. Bottom line we tracked a wounded moose for two days. He quit bleeding and seem to have no problems at avoiding us. The moose was probably the new state record and I guess will remain so somewhere out there. Will be headed back over after I get back from Texas. I have 2 deer tags to fill over there then will return for elk camp before Nov. 1.
Boomer, one moose I called in, we passed on and ended up taking another guy to it. They were from Everett and BN employees. The shooter was 52 and I can't remember his name. Did you know a couple of guys calling in sick to go moose hunting last week?
