I'm still fairly new to the area, and wondered if any of you could recommend a gunsmith here who has a good reputation for working on AR's?

Well, I decided to ship my Colt M4 barrel to Rapid Fire Ohio to get Mike to blind pin a 5 slot Phantom on it.They quoted me $25 to do the work. Even with shipping, it's very cost effective...they said the turnaround time on it will be a couple of days.
P.S. - dropping the nick Artac...I'm "Laird" from now on. I'm asking staff to delete the old nick.
