How does this work...I have a kid enrolled and had a question about the instructors. Are the staff currently NG or Reserves and paid thru a school district? It’s a good program, and in some of the early information I read and from what I was told, it was going to require a lot of discipline of the students part, but...after hearing cliches like well, master sergeant says if we’re not early we’re late, etc...I too gave a lecture on the importance of being on time as dropping the kid off and saw other kids waiting. Mentioned it to the wife and she advised ‘they’re’ always running  5 to 10 minutes late. (It’s Air Force, if that matters...did I just answer my own question)

This may not be the same for all programs, but I believe ROTC instructors have to be retired .mil, and within 2 years (I think) of their separation date.

Speaking of ROTC.  Anyone in the Sierra Vista area needs to go to 143 Street Tacos because it is delicious... and also all tips for the month of March go to the Buena JROTC Parents Club.
